About COPPA...
Remenber, the internet is not a babysitter
YouTube will no longer let viewers help creators with subtitles and captions
So, about the Projared controversy. Projared released a video defending himself. The video was unlisted for unknown reasons but here's another.
Here's the full 40-minute video (again, it was unlisted).
I know I'm like four months late but AVGN's cat died. His name was Boo.
Cinemsassacre Wrote:R.I.P. Boo (2007-2020). He was more than a pet, but a member of the family, lost to cancer. 13 years ago, my wife adopted him and had an emotional bond with that can't be replaced. Ever since then, he's been a great fun-loving cat, until his final day, yesterday. He'll be missed.
Thanks everyone for the condolences. Also my sympathy for everyone who's gone through the same thing. If only Boo could know all the entertainment he's given you over the years. Here's an inevitable short clip montage. This will probably appear at the end of the upcoming AVGN.

Youtube is really pushing short videos recently. Putting them on the front page and such.
It seems YouTube removed the dilslike counter from videos. You can no longer see how many dislikes a video has.

Dislike counter is back.
Flashback Friday!
Remenber when YouTube had pop-up annotations? I miss them.
Also, remenber when the comment section had an area for video responses. For example, if you scrolled down to the comments of a video, you could also see the video responses ("this video was made in response to this other video").
Throwback Thursday!
Remenber back when the reply system in the comments was different? The reply button/function as we know it today (the system where replies to a comment are threaded beneath the original comment so you can follow the conversation) wasn't implemented until circa 2012. This is a great change, it kind of makes me wonder why they didn't implement it sooner.
The fact that YT comment sections are awful is a different subject.
Remenber when the title of a YouTube video was ABOVE the video instead of being below? That change never made sense to me. It's the title, so therefore it should be above.
Did you know that YouTube has an option to change the AUDIO of the video? Some videos have the option to change the audio to different languages.
That's right, it's not just subtitles, but also the audio track. Pretty cool feature, honestly.
YouTube is planning to remove the dislike button. Although YouTube had been developing the concept as early as March 2021, they didn't actually go through with the plans until November 2021.

There's already an option to hide the like and dislike counter. Its been there for many years. This change is pointless.
On YouTube desktop are no longer visible. However you can still see them on the YouTube app and YouTube mobile (on mobile browser). Dislike counter on Youtube shorts aren't visible on YouTube App, tho.
Let's be real, this change wasn't made to protect content creators. This was made to protect corporations and politicians.
