Pretty interesting. It might just be a coincidence, but they sound so similar it might not be.
I'm actually looking into this more, but I beleive the keyboardist of the Jetzons, Brad Buxler, would go on to become a sound enigineer after they broke up who worked on... wait for it... the first several Sonic the Hedgehog games. Might explain the connection, since he was the writer of both songs. I'm trying to find sources for this right now.
