I don't know if this is worth mentioning or not but I certainly found it odd.

This does it to me every once in a while. It only means that it's loading, or at lest that's when it does to me.

This appears to be a simple case of the thread status images not loading on that particular page load. It happens occasionally and can usually be fixed by refreshing.
