In Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus, not only does the lead student of the Gessen Girls' Academy, Yumi, state that she's an admirer of classical music, but the themes of all 5 Gessen girls are based on different classical compositions.
Specifically:
- Yumi's theme is based on "Dies Irae" from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Requiem in d-Minor, followed by Ludwig vanĀ Beethoven's "Pathetique Sonata, 3rd Movement"
Listen from 0:09 to 0:24 for Dies Irae and 0:43 to 1:11 for Pathetique Sonata.
- Murakumo's theme gets its buildup and dramatic sound from Sergei Prokofiev's "The Evil God and the Dance of the Pagan Monster" from his Scythian Suite
- Yozakura's theme is based on Ludwig van Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata, 1st Movement"
Listen more closely to the background instrumentation to hear the similarities.
- Minori's theme is based on the "Russian Dance" from Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite.
Listen especially from 0:19 to 0:33
- Shiki's theme is based on Antonio Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons - Winter, 1st Movement"
