Trailer for a new Sonic game here:

Looks like this one might actually be pretty good. We'll see, but I'm honestly withholding too much judgement until we see a bit more of this game. It looks fairly simple with interesting bosses though so my expectations are at a good level. Anyone have any thoughts?
Sega really cannot seem to face the music that literally everyone hated Sonic Boom. I really cannot comment about this since this just looks bland as ever coming from Sega. If they want money, put the hedgehog to sleep and touch an IP that they haven't touched in years.
Strangely conflicted about this one.
It looks better than boom, but at the same time, it really doesn't.
I'm amazed they are still pushing this line.

I can kinda see why though. Sega said they wanted to eventually establish a system not unlike CoD where the Sonic Boom team releases a game one year and Sonic Team releases a game the other year. Since those two worlds are separate from one another, that kind of makes sense.

So that basically means a 50/50 chance of getting an entertaining release.

That's, probably not far off actually. We'll see.
What do you get when you mix fire and ice?
Not Sonic Generations 2.
Let's see:
2D Sonic game. It's a whole lot easier to make a decent 2D platformer than a 3D one (as proven by the Sonic Team countless time by now).
Probably still annoying characterizations.
I didn't realize Amy was a "new playable character". Heck, she was playable all the way back in Sonic The Fighters. Get yo' game together, Sega.
Fire and Ice mechanics will probably make for some fun mechanics, buuuutttt.... I'm also afraid of the mechanics being so overused they become monotonous.
Might be a good game, might be a meh, might be HOLY COW CAN I TURN OFF MY 3DS ANY FASTER!!!! We shall see.

I'm honestly hoping since this game is done by Boom Team and is exclusive for 3DS, that we get another game from Sonic Team at E3 that is generations 2 or something else done right.
It looks like every other GBA/DS sonic game I've ever seen, plus a horribly unoriginal song for the trailer. I dunno, at this point we're all sort of beating a dead hedgehog, and a few of the DS renditions were actually pretty solid platformers.
What do you get when you mix fire and ice? Water, duh.

To be honest, Sonic Rush on DS is incredibly good.

Anything that had Hideki Naganuma as the composer is automatically good.
