The Wing Cap theme from Super Mario 64 (which in itself is a variation of the starman theme from the original Super Mario Bros.) is actually just the "Powerful Baby" Theme from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island on the SNES sped up and with different instruments.
Both games were likley in development at the same time as they both came out a year apart. (With Yoshi's Island coming first.)
