In the 6/14/15 direct, Sakurai stated that Suzaku Castle was the first stage in series history to have music that changes as the timer gets close to zero. This is actually false, as both Smash 64 and Melee had stages that did this as well.
In Smash 64, The stage Mushroom Kingdom's music would speed up when the timer hits 30 seconds.

In Melee, Mushroom Kingdom returns, as does this quirk (except it's now 20 seconds instead of 30 seconds). Along with that, Mushroom Kingdom II has the exact same feature.
