This has been going on for a while, but I think it's worth an entry.
It's no secret that Kirby Super Star is full of cameos and references such as the crowd members of Dedede Stadium being Mario characters and the Mario and Samus statues found in the Stone ability.
But did you know that the subgame Revenge of Meta Knight features a reference to the 70s anime Lupin the Third?
Several of the ending themes to the series feature character Fujiko Mine riding a bike into the sunset with a bidimensional side perspective. Here are two examples:
In the subgame Revenge of Meta Knight, after Kirby destroys the Battleship Halberd we see a beautifully shot which shows exactly that: Kirby riding a Wheelie Bike to the sunset in a bidimiensional side perspective. Here's the ending clip:
And the remake's version:
