Alright. He may have been royally screwed with Konami, but he's not throwing the towel for video games just yet. He's just announced that he's opening his own video game studio. And he is already talking to Sony(for possibly publishing future projects for the Playstation console). Thoughts? If he is talking to Sony, hopefully they'll give him more control over what Konami has done to him.
Doesn't surprise me much. Its beoming a trend in Japan since game creators are often leveraged as something akin to celebrities.

I'm just glad we finally know what's going on officially. Not that I didn't expect this, but it's nice to see Kojima not having to rely on Konami for anything now. I gotta a feeling Sony will have to treat him better if they want to keep up their success so this should all around be considered good news. R.I.P. to Konami though, which may or may not make some people happy.
Prepare yourself for the onslaught of Konami jokes and attacks in his newest game.
Update on the news about this. He's getting everyone he worked with back on board with this new studio, and it won't be just playstation exclusive.

Kojima is looking to work with Del Toro again.

Seriously though, now that they are in cohorts with Sony it seems that the console war has already been won, if it hasn't been clear for quite a while now. Sony is pulling all the stocks and adding Kojima Productions' new game to their lineup only makes their market grow.
