during development, the game was originally named Slasher Vol. 1: Summer Camp, but with all the elements based on the Friday the 13th movies. the developers reached out to Tom Savini, Kane Hodder, and Harry Manfredini, to help with further development into the game. Sean S. Cunningham, the franchise's license holder, reached out the developers of the game and gave them the licensing for free.
