Any ideas on what they might talk about? I'm guessing we'll get some Pokken Star Fox, possibly Zelda Wii U, a release date for DQ7, DQ8 may go on pre-order afterwards, things like that.
I kind of expected we'd get a Direct this month covering what to expect between now and E3, but I do hope we'll get something we aren't aware of yet. It would just be nice since we got some of that back at November's Direct because that was a very good showing. We'll see. So, any thoughts? Idea? Hopes?
Chances are we are likely going to get something about Star Fox and Zelda Wii U. I'm hoping something Paper Mario gets mentioned.
Yeah that was pretty good. Nothing SUPER amazing but a good direct.
Well, at least we're getting the new Rhythm Heaven, and Star Fox seems cool.
Shame about the rest of the direct though.

Shame how? What exactly didn't you like? Getting SNES games for the 3DS is amazing news to me.
Wow, I can't believe I was right about Paper Mario. But so far. I'm sort of mixed about it. It looks like Sticker Star 2 to be completely honest.

Paper Mario Sticker Star 2 "It's still not an RPG": Color Edition is terrible.
Didn't care for Mario and Sanic
Didn't care for Mario Maker DLC and all that
Even though I forgot about the SNES games, I could easily play them on another system.
Fire Emblem + SMT is still something I'm not fully into. We didn't get much info about it either.
Fire Emblem Fates/Conquest/Requiem was just news we already knew
Mostly, it was pretty forgettable and there wasn't much I wanted from it.

It's New3DS only though. I have one which is fine but apparently only the "power of New3DS could give us SNES games". OK, Nintendo.

They never said only the New 3DS can do it, but it seems like they are giving it some exclusivity which is fine by me. It's not like they haven't given some warnings that the new one was going to get some exclusives. I mean from the get go, they made it clear the New 3DS was more powerful and give it an enticing exclusive to boot, that's two warnings right there to pay attention or get it. Then, on top of that, Hyrule Warriors Legends has been known about for months, and anyone who knows anything about game systems had to know the New 3DS is the system to play that one on. I don't know, I think complaining about the New 3DS exclusives makes about as much sense as complaining about Sony or Microsoft exclusives. We all knew they were coming.

I get that but it's like Nintendo are competing against themselves. It's like when Sony/Microsoft make a statement about being able to "experience this game only on [insert console]" but with Nintendo, they're competing against themselves for no real reason. There isn't any benefit to alienating a strong user base or forcing them into a console version that people aren't willing to give into yet. Even still, the new3DS has one exclusive, Xenoblade Chronicles and it's not a must have. Games like Hyrule Warriors and Monster Hunter benefit from being played on those systems as they are given a graphical upgrade but it's not really a must own feature of the new3DS.
Knowing that these plans are coming doesn't stop them being bad.
Did look into the games though since Earthbound on the go would be sweet but at £8 a SNES game, nah.
