Honestly, the Smash bros series has too many Mario characters already, i think the best is to let the other franschises shine.

But in all seriousness, I can handle Ganondorf, and Lucina but cut it out with uninspired blatent clone characters like Dark Pit and Dr.Mario. Please and thank you.

There aren't many options. I'd recommend adding some that have never had a SSB character.
All obvious ridiculousness aside, with Skyrim on the NX, having the Dragonborn show up and shout people off the stage could be a blast.
