Hold on to your seats because... It's that time of year again !
Time to celebrate the various characters on this forum through the medium of a ceremony that makes the Oscars jealous !
Who was the most compulsive thanker ? Who really needs to get more sleep ? You decide (unless a majority of other people decide someone else, or maybe I meant the collective 'you' as in "you all decide", but then that would also be wrong unless everyone votes unanimously...) !
Here's how it's going to go :
Like last year, voting will follow the preferential ballot system, which I will explain below in the spoiler-tags.
All votes received and any other related data will be shared with two other members of the forum for cross-examination.
Happy category suggesting !!

Like last year, voting will follow the preferential ballot system, which I will explain below in the spoiler-tags.
So how does preferential ballot work ?
Essentially, when you cast your vote, you put the candidates in your order of preference. If no-one gets over half of the votes, the person with the least vote is eliminated, and their second choice gets their vote. If someone, with these new votes, now gets over 50% of votes, we have a winner. If no-one gets over half of the votes, the person who now has the fewest votes gets eliminated and their vote is shares among the remaining candidates.
Quick example
Candidates A, B and C want to win.
Ballot 1 votes for B, then A, then C.
Ballot 2 votes for B, then C, then A.
Ballot 3 votes for A, then B, then C.
Ballot 4 votes for C, then B, then A.
Ballot 5 votes for A, then B, then C.
So that's two votes for B, two for A, one for C. No-one has over half of the votes.
As the candidate with the fewest votes, C is eliminated. The second choice therefore gets his vote. The second choice is B, so the vote goes to him/her/zir.
Now we have three votes for B, and two for A. B now has over 50% of the votes, and wins.
