So I made an interesting observation yesterday regarding Persona 5.
To match the new black, white, and redĀ aesthetic, the Tarot cards were given a new design, rather than using the same designs as Persona 3 and Persona 4. In fact, the designs of the cards in Persona 5 are based on the Marseilles Tarot deck; dated to about 1499 CE, it's considered one of the most influential designs in the world of Tarot.
For comparison, here is the Marseilles Tarot deck:
And here are the Major Arcana used in Persona 5:
(Notice how the French names of each Arcana are used here instead of the English names, such as "The Pope" instead of "The Hierophant")
