To newt (heh, newt, fun to say) I will try to find a site online to read them. I would buy them, but there are only 3 comic stores I know of. 1 gets the soft cover books, 1 charges $6 an issue, and the place that has it all sells them for $4.50, however its hard to get older issues from them. On May 4th was free comic book day (to those who don't know, its just some free comics made to draw in new fans) and they sold old issues for $1 each. There were 6 people in front of me and my brother, 2 were there from the night before, and the other was a father and 3 kids. The father used steroids a lot, and the kids are swag fags, and would barge in, and block everyone off, then never bought anything. By the time you could get past, the store was crowded so I didnt get anything. If I do enjoy the comics though, I will buy them.
To supersquid, if you want a series to see characters die, get suicide squad. They basically invent people just to kill them. I see Batman as the scape goat for everything. If the creators cant find a way to stop a hero gone evil, then batman can handle it straight away. It can get annoying at times, but hey, its what Batman does.
As a extra something to the DC fans, apparently in the book forms of the comics, Captain Marvel (or Shazam as they call him now (which is ridiculous)) aren't featured, yet will get his own spin-off book featuring all of his comics in it. Hopefully if it does well enough, it will make his own comic series.

The character death was more implied for the movie, I just found that it was too perfect and too inhuman. I love it when movies try to be more down to Earth with themselves. I mean its cool that they ended the Iron Man trilogy and all of that but it would've been nicer to see Stark lose more if that makes sense?
Oh and character death in comics isn't a problem! :P They have a tendency to kill characters off enough anyway. Look at Damien Wayne dying in the new 52. Bats has basically lost his mind now! :P

I got really bored during it which is rare for me while watching a movie especially one based on a comic book. I really feel like the stakes in the movie were high but they really didn't play to their full potential. I would've loved to have seen more negative results through the actions that had been taken. I'm not a huge Marvel Comics fan but I love the movies but this one felt kind of risk free, I felt like I knew that characters who were put in danger were going to be safe.
I feel like they played the movie far to safe and should've been a bit more risky overall with the plot, sure its okay to keep people alive in movies but my problem was with the movie that we knew no matter what happened that all of the main cast would stay alive and when they did eventually kill a character it was a character introduced in the movie who had no/very little character development. As for the villain I thought the villain was okay overall, nothing special but following the Avengers any villain would've seemed small. There were bits where I felt they tried to make him look like a "bad-ass" and it just completely fell flat on its face.
like the part where he breathed some fire, it just looked poor and made me think that they were just trying too hard.
I mean I love that they showed a whole load of character development for Tony Stark it was amazing to see the aftermath of the Avengers plot but the issue was they didn't really play on it as much as I would've loved to see, I would've loved to see his world shatter because of the choices he made, not crack like it did but properly shatter.
like for the five minutes Pepper was 'dead' I felt like Stark's world was starting to shatter around him!
Had they not played it safe I think I would've preferred it but I mean this is just my opinion on it.
Also the lack of War Machine annoyed me, I mean isn't the Iron Patriot a suit worn by the guy who is the Green Goblin? Or have I got that completely wrong?
My views on the DC hate in this thread are below.
Now for all of the DC hate in this thread, I don't get it. I understand the frustration of DC characters not properly dying and the Superman thing is quite annoying but he is DC's oldest most well known character, if he were to disappear DC's face would be Batman and as much as I love Batman I just don't think he's the right icon for it. Also I just want to point out, I'm not really a Superman fan.
Superman is supposed to be the man that we want to be the upstanding man in society who is willing to protect it no matter what happens, Batman however is supposed to be the exact opposite, the man we can become but would never want to be. The reason Batman can fight his rouges so well is because he is exactly like them, insane. But not in the same way, he over preps for everything, he has plans in place in case the Justice League went rouge and he has actions in place for if he went rouge, I mean even as cool as Batman is that is a little extreme!
Whilst I don't read Marvel Comics I still have respect for them, I think both comic companies work well together, the two have copied each other so much its unreal. Deadpool is the best example as he was made as a parody of Deathstroke but became popular so they changed him around a little bit.
Besides DC do have characters that have died in the past and stayed dead, look at Blue Beetle (Not Jaime Reyes), Ted Kord has a habit of dying in all forms of media. Hell he even died in Brave and the Bold, the show made to show Batman in a less violent light!
Sorry for all of the text, I didn't mean to make it so long winded! >.<
If you hate DC you'll love the new Arrow TV series

Yes, Norman Osborn and Obidiah Stane's son keep messing with Stark Industries and they got a hold of the Iron Patriot armor. Iron Patriot was used for the Dark Avengers, which was somewhat amusing.
I don't know enough about Marvel for you to take the above as anything more than a grain of salt.
Phoenix, if you'd like to read comics(Like Extremis) an easy place to start is Barnes and Noble. They have a comic section, and if they don't have what you want, you can ask them to order it for you. Extremis is collected in a nice paperback, making it easy to gain access to and read.

I live in Australia and the cheapest was comics etc which now sells at american prices. The only stores we have is Comics Etc, Daily Planet, and Ace Comics. I may try buying them online again like I did with the death of the family set.

You shouldn't need to go to a comic store, though. Does Australia have a chain book store?
Not any that sells comics. Trust me, the closest place that would sell any would be the news agency, and they only get 3-4 random ones a year.
A Zombie Riot, what the hell happened to Kirby? Man I've been away for a while, anyways I saw it and I had a great time. Yeah the Mandarin
thing was a little off, but I actually enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I was going to, and cheers on them for actually misleading pretty much everyone from what they thought they were going to see. It was the best damn plot twist I've seen in a while.
That being said, one quick spoiler tag:
WAR MACHINE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING FOR THE ENTIRE MOVIE. SERIOUSLY, THE MOST HEROIC THING HE DID WAS SMASH A WALL AND INSTANTLY GET OWNED BY A GRUNT.
Also, in non-caps lock form, why did a pipe kill mister schmexy hair if being obliterated by a massive explosion didn't? Da fuck was that about...
Kirby got replaved with Yoshi when this place first started off... or well when I joined. I took the gif version of that Yoshi and replaced it with the current one to stop lag.
Nothing happened to Kirby. Better question is, what happened to Yoshi. See, Kirby ate Yoshi. As you can tell from the picture, we can't see more than the head. The little pink things that we see as "shoulders" are actually Kirby's legs. So, basically, he is a pink Yoshi head.
