I have the original 3ds black cosmo and I'm really wondering if the system really is very strong or is it very weak in terms of the design like the physical part of it, the clamp shell, the screen etc. Is it strong or fragile and is it just as good as the 3ds xl?

Yeah, its basically the same as the DSI in strength.
