Probably an alternative with the same powers then. Nintendo said that Olimar isn't going to be a big part of Pikmin 3 and seeing as many didn't like him in Brawl, I don't see it being a big possibility. RE: The Super Smash Bros. 4 Discussion Thread - MexicanAnime - 06-13-2013 I can still hope. Doesn't help that my main team consisted of players not really used, such as Diddy Kong, Ice Climbers, and Olimar. RE: The Super Smash Bros. 4 Discussion Thread - gamemaster1991 - 06-13-2013 Can I ask why Olimar was a good idea? I mean, who looked at Pikmin and said, "You know what we can do with this RTS game? Make it in to a fighter for smash bros."? The villager is the same thing but at lest Olimar had ONE attack. You have to make up a lot of the villagers moves, and you still had to give him Balloon Fighter's move set. I can think of alot of fighters that would be better than Olimar, Villager, and Wii Fit Trainer. This is only my opinion though, so here is your grain of salt. It's one of the reasons that make this series so fun because of the unexpected battles you can have with different Nintendo characters. It's wasn't really the character that made me dislike Olimar, it was his really odd, slow fighting style that I didn't like. So It depends on how good the fighting style is of the Wii Fit Trainer and The Villager that will decide whether they are good or not. I personally loved his fighting style as you can pull off great combos if you know how to control your Pikmin. Even in tourny's, he's pretty well regarded. ROB, Peach, and Dr. Mario....... I'll give you those. But most of the cast are action characters. The villager is a life sim character, Olimar is an RTS character, and Wii Fit is Wii Fit. Excluding ROB, my examples still can count (Peach saved the world once and Dr. Mario is just Mario as a Doctor). Also Pikmin are a few CMs tall, not a few feet. Well if you can play as him, more power to ya. RE: The Super Smash Bros. 4 Discussion Thread - MexicanAnime - 06-13-2013 In the Pikmin games, there's a good chunk of the game where you're just fighting bosses with the Pikmin and finding different methods to do them. He's not that odd compared to others like Ice Climbers, Rob, Game and Watch, and others. Either way, glad that they put them in and the Trainer, as it makes for a really fun character. Hell, look at what MvC did to Phoenix Wright. That was pretty awesome. ... Layton! If they could find a way, I'd be happy with them including him. You have now made me really want to have Nick in the game. Capcom, you need to let them do this. At lest have him as an assist trophy. Maybe the Pikmin could also be an assist trophy. It could be a ton of Pikmin just sticking to people and making them slower, making it easier for you to hit your enemies. He was one of the best characters in Brawl. Very high on the tier list. The article basically said that Masahiro Sakurai preferred a small cast of characters so that the game could be more balanced out, giving the game a more distinct and finely tuned roster. |
