That Panzer Dragoon find is pretty good. Were you lucky enough to meet Stan Lee? Not surprised Smash tourney was there. EVO was hype this weekend so everyone was in the fighting spirit. RE: The Free Gaming Thread v2 : Electric Boogaloo - retrolinkx - 07-14-2014 ^ Nah, the queue for that shit was too long, so I only saw a glimpse of the stock photo they place above his area. RE: The Free Gaming Thread v2 : Electric Boogaloo - CosmykTheDolfyn - 07-14-2014 I now own 2 games for the 3DS: Super Monkey Ball 3D and Code of Princess... I knew that Code of Princess had scantily clad women, but geez it's surprised me with the sheer amount. Funny enough. But, the game play is ultra fun. edit: Makes for some cool figures. RE: The Free Gaming Thread v2 : Electric Boogaloo - CosmykTheDolfyn - 07-14-2014 Adding to Code of Princess, there was a joke about the main character being confused with a prostitute due to her scant clothing. I love this game. RE: The Free Gaming Thread v2 : Electric Boogaloo - GameWizard001 - 07-14-2014 Just bought two games over the weekend. First had a tough time just getting the damn money into my PSN wallet. I had to change my CC/Debit card I had on file as I activated a new one that came in cause the other was about to expire. All I had to do really was change the expiration date and the security code. Did that. Tried to put money into my wallet. Thought it went well and went to buy my game there since I was at the PSN site on my PC, but I see that my wallet didn't change. At first I thought it just took a second to change or update but that couldn't be the case, it usually is pretty fast when doing that. So I try again, only this time after it failed to update my wallet I noticed it wanted my security code. Thought fine, go and grab my wallet and I try once more to do it but now it says my CC is not verified. Apparently my multiple failed attempts prompted a lock out for that sort of thing. Thought "Damn it, I don't want to wait 24hrs for it to go back!" So I go to Amazon, buy a code from there, which is about $0.01 cheaper than my method of just straight from the debit card. Anyway, got my code verified and wallet stuffed with cash. So I go back and buy my games. They had a flash sale over the weekend with some games worth $0.99. One of them was Legend of the Dragoon. Now I already own a physical copy of the game. However, even if I do take care of them, sometimes shit happens and I figured I paid close to $30 for my physical copy, so to get a backup for just under $1 is a bargain. The other game was Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remastered. So far you can tell a slight difference compared to the PS2 version but not by much. They made the eyes have a little more life to them and not some dead looking face. The cutscenes don't look that much different though. Unless I did a real side by side to do it, there wasn't too big of a difference. RE: The Free Gaming Thread v2 : Electric Boogaloo - Zaliphone - 07-15-2014 I've been going for the inFamous platinum trophy and right now it's more of a challenge to stay awake. There's 350 shards to collect, I started this morning with one of my old save files that had 120 of them, and maybe 2 hours later of systematically searching each district I have less than 20 left. And then I have to the remaining stunts, I think I have 6 of those left, and then beat the game on hard, because it didn't count the first time. Pretty fun game. RE: The Free Gaming Thread v2 : Electric Boogaloo - gamemaster1991 - 07-16-2014 I have a few questions. 1. Is there any Dreamcast games I should be looking for? Right now I have Skies of Arcadia, Marvel vs. Capcom, Soul Calibur, Dino Crisis, and Prince of Persia 3D in mind. 2. Is it better to get Dino Crisis on Dreamcast or PS and is it better to get Skies of Arcadia or Skies of Arcadia Legends on Gamecube? It's a really difficult game, but I've always been fond of IllBleed. It's a horror game about a girl's crazy father who built a weird theme park which you have to survive in order to collect a cash prize in the end. It's got a quirky sense of humor to it and it's fun once you get used to the unusual mechanics of it. It got a really nice release on the PS2, but people say that the the Dreamcast version of Rayman 2 is their favorite. I only pick it over the PS2 since a really good cut scene is missing otherwise. If you're a racing fan I'd get Wacky Races. It will remind you a bit of Mario Kart due to the use of gadgets. Jet Grind Radio is an absolute must have. It's really a lot fun. RE: The Free Gaming Thread v2 : Electric Boogaloo - gamemaster1991 - 07-16-2014 ^I have the Xbox version of Jet Set/Grind Radio. I hear it's better. Never knew what made each of Rayman 2 games different. I'll look in to the Dreamcast version. I forgot about IllBleed. Should add that to the wish list. Had no idea about Wacky Races. Jet Set is a sequel and Grind is the more challenging original. You don't even have that detective chasing you around in the newer version and they age Professor K ;_; RE: The Free Gaming Thread v2 : Electric Boogaloo - gamemaster1991 - 07-16-2014 ^ K. Thanks for the heads up. I'll look for that one too. RE: The Free Gaming Thread v2 : Electric Boogaloo - retrolinkx - 07-17-2014 (07-16-2014, 07:32 PM)gamemaster1991 Wrote: I have a few questions. There are hundreds of Dreamcast games you can get, they're all really good, here are some of my recommendations. Shenmue 1 and 2 (although it's PAL only) Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 Grandia 2 Crazy Taxi 1 and 2 Jet Set/Grind Radio Chu Chu "motherfuckin" rocket Space Channel 5 Project Justice House of the Dead 1 and 2 (And Typing of the Dead) Metropolis Street Racer Incoming Resident Evil: Code Veronica (PS2 has a better version, but the DC one is worth a try) Power Stone 1 and 2 Red Dog: Superior Firepower Ready 2 Rumble Boxing: Round 2 Rez I'd also say try and get the mutliplats that came from the N64 and PS1 since they're usually the best version on the Dreamcast, such as Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 and 2, and Ready 2 Rumble. As for the SoA question. I own both and I can tell you a lot about it. In my personal opinion I'd get the Dreamcast version since it's cheaper, has VMU compatibilities and the music isn't butchered to fit on one disc. The only advantages you have over the DC version is sightly better graphics, less random battle encounters (it's ridiculously high in the Dreamcast), 60hz compatibility for the PAL users and it's one one disc instead of two. Also, Jet Set Radio, and Jet Set Radio Future, are two different games based on the same universe, it's not a true sequel it's more of a different game under different circumstances. It was meant to be on the Dreamcast but was moved to the Xbox like many Dreamcast games that never saw a sequel on the console. Jet Set Radio is more arcade-y, since you've got to tag all the spots in a set time limit, the controls are harder to grasp and it's difficult to play, as for Future, it's got more of a story and the gameplay has been revamped a bit, although the gravity is pretty horrible sometimes. RE: The Free Gaming Thread v2 : Electric Boogaloo - gamemaster1991 - 07-17-2014 ^ I should probably remind you that I'm American and can't get Rez because it was only released in Pal and Jap territories (unless I miss the part where the Dreamcast is not region locked, because that would mean I could play the other half to 3/4 of the games we did not over here). Thanks for helping out. RE: The Free Gaming Thread v2 : Electric Boogaloo - Mass Distraction - 07-17-2014 (07-16-2014, 07:32 PM)gamemaster1991 Wrote: I have a few questions. 1. Yes. Garou: Mark of the Wolves, Shenmue, Blue Stinger, Crazy Taxi, Carrier, Dynamite Cop and Power Stone. If you like shmups, I'd suggest Mars Matrix and Fast Striker. Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver is also a good purchase if you don't have it yet, though it's also available on PS and PC. 2. I would suggest the PS release of Dino Crisis, since at least with Code: Veronica the tank controls work way better on the PS release. If your Dreamcast is a made before Nov 2000, and has a model number ending with 0 or 1, you'll be able to burn games onto a CD and play them on your Dreamcast, so you could try that and see if it'll work if you aren't able to play some games that aren't on the Dreamcast in your country. I think is is region locked. We only got around 200 or so games over here for the Dreamcast, I think America had some more, but Japan had tons, mainly dating sims. |
