RE: The Music Thread - Lazlo Falconi - 06-26-2013 I'm currently listening to Can I Get Get Get (Guns 'n Bombs Echo Parque Remix) by Junior Senior on gnbgnbgnb RE: The Music Thread - Psychospacecow - 06-26-2013 I needed a pick me up. RE: The Music Thread - cingchris - 06-26-2013 I decided that there wasn't enough metal being shared currently so here's some of my favorites. Mudvayne: Out To Pasture Oh, Sleeper: Hush Yael Bullet for My Valentine: All These Things I Hate (Revolve Around Me) Five Finger Death Punch: The Bleeding Shadows Fall: King of Nothing Avenged Sevenfold: Chapter Four RE: The Music Thread - CosmykTheDolfyn - 06-27-2013 How about some 60s music that is awesome? I'd be shocked if any of you knew this one. Mr. Creep by Spur. And did somebody request...Metal? How about some bands that are going on the Summer Slaughter tour? RE: The Music Thread - cingchris - 06-30-2013 I forgot about this song, pretty damn good, coming back to it now. RE: The Music Thread - Lazlo Falconi - 06-30-2013 I was playing Civ V earlier today so now I'm listening to Hybrid Rainbow by The Pillows. It's a thing I have that I always listen to the Pillows when I play that game. The two go together very well! RE: The Music Thread - CosmykTheDolfyn - 07-08-2013 So, yesterday, I bought 6 new CDs, and I've already listened to them all. They are: Dead Man's Party by Oingo Boingo In Step by Stevie Ray Vaughn (for all you Texans) Strikes by Blackfoot Point of Know Return by Kansas Morrison Hotel by The Doors Pieces of Eight by Styx I figured I'd let you all listen to what is so far my fave song off of each of those albums. Long post today. RE: The Music Thread - CosmykTheDolfyn - 07-11-2013 So, there was a complete thunderstorm yesterday back home. And flooding. My neighbor's corn field is almost under water. And I all could do was think of songs that mention rain. (And for anyone wanting metal) RE: The Music Thread - MexicanAnime - 07-11-2013 (06-30-2013, 08:00 PM)Lazlo Falconi Wrote: I was playing Civ V earlier today so now I'm listening to Hybrid Rainbow by The Pillows. I may have been one of those people who got into their music through an anime, but damn they still have some really good stuff. RE: The Music Thread - Hexadecimal - 07-14-2013 Can I hijack this thread a tiny bit to ask for some music suggestions? My poor MP3 player is sooo lacking, and my world is small, so I have not been exposed to as much music as I should have. The thing is, it might be a tad hard since I'm a bit all over the place. I'll name bands whose music I like consistently (really not that many) and post some songs I really like in the hopes that it'll help. For the most part, though, I enjoy music that has a faster beat and a singer with a pretty distinct voice. Oh, and if it sounds like an oldies song I might like it. Groups I like: Queen, Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Harvey Danger, and Bowling for Soup. Some songs: RE: The Music Thread - CosmykTheDolfyn - 07-14-2013 Oingo Boingo. I've posted a song from them earlier. They basically released 80s style dance tunes with really unique lyrics and a unique sounding singer. You've probably heard his voice before. Oingo Boingo's lead singer, Danny Elfman, would end up becoming very close friends with Tim Burton and has done the soundtracks to nearly all of the movies he has directed. You've probably also HEARD him sing before, as he provided the voice to Jack Skellington in "The Nightmare Before Christmas" The Psychedelic Furs were a really neat sounding group from the 80s (ok, I've been on an 80s pitch lately). Unique sounding singer also. Talk Talk. Listen to their entire career. Over 5 albums, they went for sensible pop music to acoustic music to beautiful orchestral arrangements. Take a listen. (And yet again, more 80s with a one of a kind singer) I really hope there was something you enjoyed in that selection, Hex! I just pulled some stuff out at kinda random. RE: The Music Thread - CLXcool - 07-16-2013 I am mostly a jazz listener. Smooth jazz(tom scott) to jazz from the 1930s as well as jazz from artists like Vince Guaraldi, video game music, as well as music from japan. Here's an example of the said jazz music I'm into. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5z5rWeekoL8 RE: The Music Thread - MexicanAnime - 07-17-2013 This is one type of Jazz I quite like. RE: The Music Thread - A Zombie Riot - 07-21-2013 Anyone else listen to Skillet's new album, 'Rise' yet? I freaking love it! RE: The Music Thread - CosmykTheDolfyn - 07-21-2013 ^Nope, I haven't yet... Well, here's a mix of stuff for my 500th post! Woot! |
