First it was the Super Famicom remake, then it was Game Boy Color remake, then it was the Android/iOS remake (which was used as the basis for the PS4, 3DS and Switch ports of DQIII). And now this one. It's been FOUR times this game got a remake. Four times. They also teased the possibility of remake of DQI and DQII. Not gonna lie, the game looks really pretty. I'm just surprised about it, that's all. From what I could find the reception towards the Android/iOS remake is pretty divided. Many like it and many hate it. Perphas that was the main reason why SE is making a fourth remake of this game? "This is nowhere near as bad as Game Freak's Gen 1 pandering nor Capcom's milking of Street Fighter II" - Oh yeah, I agree. But what does that have to do with Dragon Quest?
