RE: Gaming news - Skarro - 05-07-2013 (05-07-2013, 02:52 AM)Mass Distraction Wrote: ^Have you ever played the Walking Dead game? Yes, and the story was very good. Gameplay could have been better. As all TellTale games really. I just wish it was one game for 30 dollars instead of episodic. Having to switch games if you want to play a specific mission or show an achievement blows. And people getting suckered into buying 1/5 of a game thinking they're getting 5 is evil. I stole all TellTale games except Strong Bad's CGFAP (I purchased on wii). They're all either funny or have a great story, but I refuse to support them. Eternall Darkness: Sanity's Requiem is getting a successor! Sonic the Hedgehog Episode 1. Why would I want to play a game that I know isn't the full game? (A game that is well known as a crap for so many reasons). The walking dead: same applies Wallace and Gromit: same applies Back to the Future: same applies. RE: Gaming news - A Zombie Riot - 05-07-2013 So, EA as exclusive rights to make and/or publish Star Wars games for... I forget how many years. Some reactions from people are typical. But you have to realize something, LucasArts have made some TERRIBLE Star Wars games in the past generation. Seriously, name one good Star Wars game that came out in the past 7 years. There might be a couple... or just one. It's bad. Even if EA did a Battlefield: Star Wars, people would so totally buy into that. I would, anyways. It would be fun. RE: Gaming news - BumblebeeCody - 05-07-2013 Dunno. I think people have realise EA products aren't worth buying with all the scamming they do. The only good Star Wars game I can think of is The Force Unleashed. Nothing really else. Would hope they revive 1313 though. RE: Gaming news - Mass Distraction - 05-07-2013 (05-07-2013, 08:26 AM)Skarro Wrote:(05-07-2013, 02:52 AM)Mass Distraction Wrote: ^Have you ever played the Walking Dead game? Uh... What. It clearly says it is episodic in the game. You get a season pass of Walking Dead for 20€ in here and it was like 12€ for the whole season on Steam. I think that's a pretty good price right there for the full game. You don't even need to switch a game to go to a specific episode as you can choose whichever you like on the main menu. They give poor quality games that should be 10 dollars the final cost of a full price game. Crap? You mean the mobile game? Or do you mean Sonic 4? Because I remember you saying in the Sega thread that Sonic 4 was pretty good. RE: Gaming news - Ouberry_13 - 05-07-2013 (05-07-2013, 12:28 AM)Skarro Wrote: I agree, episodic games are the absolute worst. I never said they were bad. I have no real issue with episodic games. I would simply like it if it was one full game upon release, is all. But, it's not a demand on my part. I can deal with waiting a month or two between each chapter. Since it's a sequel/spiritual successor to Eternal Darkness, I'll gladly pay the $4 for each episode and wait for a month or so for the next one. Or, I'll just wait until all the episodes are out and buy in bulk, or buy a season pass, if they make one. Plus, if you didn't pay for the games, why do you care so much? RE: Gaming news - Skarro - 05-07-2013 Fair enough, I was just agreeing to " I'd still rather the whole thing over a mini series." and then went on to say they are the worst. Well I can't agree with the idea of it being the worst as it can done just fine. (It's just that nobody's really done it yet. Except maybe the Sam and Max games.) Anyways you guys need to be careful about who you give your money to for this project. Well, the people making this seem to be the developers of the first game so I don't think there should be any problems. FAQ Wrote:What happens if you do not reach your goal *UPDATED*? The bold part was recently added due to complaints. FAQ Wrote:Why no Kickstarter Campaign? *UPDATED*? I'm not sure if this is true or not, but I'm sure they could have easily used Indiegogo if that was a problem. (After looking alittle more I found out there are Canadian projects on KS.) As asked previously, Denis Dyack is Chief Creative Officer of this project and is known for some shady practices since Eternal Darkness: http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=14759 Quote:The case began with Silicon Knights suing Epic Games in 2007 for allegedly breaching the companies' agreement over Unreal Engine 3 licensing. Epic in turn filed a counterclaim, alleging Silicon Knights developed its own engine and games other than Too Human illegally by using Unreal Engine 3. In May this year, the court ruled in favor of Epic Games, ordering Silicon Knights to pay Epic $4.45 million in damages. http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/09/silicon-knights-v-epic-games-judgment/ Quote:These are all possible, but discussions with former employees of XMD developer Silicon Knights suggest that the game's fate was sealed long before Activision gave the project a green light back in 2009. The following story excerpts extensive interviews with former Silicon Knights employees who describe their experiences at what they say was a disorganized, unfocused company that squandered ample time and resources before being forced to release a game it was far from proud of[...] http://kotaku.com/5955223/what-went-wrong-with-silicon-knights-x+men-destiny Now despite all this Precursor Games can still deliver on what they promised. All I'm saying is be wary of who you're investing in, especially when their running a kickstarter by not using Kickstarter. And don't let nostalgia blind you blah, blah blah. RE: Gaming news - Mass Distraction - 05-08-2013 Eh, not that I was too hot into this anyway. I haven't even played the first game. RE: Gaming news - Ouberry_13 - 05-08-2013 (05-08-2013, 09:29 AM)Lightmatt Wrote: So many words I have no faith in my fellow humans when it comes to money. This why I do not donate to any projects like these, even if I really want to see them become a thing. I am very untrustworthy of these kinds of community funded things. Plus, already knowing the whole Silicon Knights/Epic thing, I'm further worried about how the donation money shall be handled. RE: Gaming news - Ghost Nappa - 05-11-2013 RE: Gaming news - Xannidel - 05-11-2013 Pokemon mounts!? I know we can fly and surf and ride up waterfalls and dig and what not but I think they need to calm down with a mount pokemon. I like the bike and now with this Pokemon I am just waiting for someone to make an MMO, not just an online Pokemon FireRed or whatever. RE: Gaming news - Psychospacecow - 05-11-2013 I am not gonna judge until I see evolutions but I am not a fan of this robin or lizard. Others look pretty cool though. |
