RE: The Chit-Chat Thread - BumblebeeCody - 03-25-2013 ^Sounds like some pretty irresponsible people. How do they even have children in the first place? @A Zombie Riot. I love 'other peoples' Facebook. XD It's so funny. They ask some of the most insane questions. Oh and whoa RE: The Chit-Chat Thread - SERIOUSLY THOUGH - 03-25-2013 (03-25-2013, 05:06 PM)A Zombie Riot Wrote: Have people really lost brain cells in the past couple of years? Seriously. I have not seen people this stupid in a while. lol, you ranted about this the other day. I don't think people will have learned how to rub dem neurons together ! RE: The Chit-Chat Thread - A Zombie Riot - 03-25-2013 It's been spring here for 5 days. I wish it was warmer but this stuff takes time! I just assumed that whenever it hits spring, it's instantaneous and that the weather instantly changes. Oh man that's so funny. Time to question this on Facebook. Is Australia a part of Europe? RE: The Chit-Chat Thread - Raiden Blackwood - 03-25-2013 My body is tired. My mind is racing. I wish they would agree on this. RE: The Chit-Chat Thread - Milkman - 03-25-2013 Hello everybody. RE: The Chit-Chat Thread - Hexadecimal - 03-25-2013 Well this is a weird coincidence. I just got a phone call from a guy who heard from someone I know that I'd like to get a new guinea pig. He's got two brothers and two sisters he'd like to get rid of since he didn't know his daughter's piggy was pregnant (Poor momma! That was a big litter!). I'll be seeing them tomorrow since he lives right town! (03-25-2013, 04:58 PM)Beware of Cuccos Wrote: Have you called CPS? Someone beat me to it and I don't know whatever became of it because they moved. I honestly have the shivers now because I don't like thinking about that family; they did so many things I didn't like. Granted this is a debatable topic, but I don't believe in homeschooling, which is what those kids were. I don't trust parents to adequately teach their kids plus they don't get the social interaction they do at a school. It's so important to learn how to deal with the different types of personalities out there, and the fact that you have to learn to get along with them, no matter how much you wish they'd get hit by a truck. Whenever I spoke with the kids they just seemed so far behind and I really fear for their future. I liked the kitty sig, as well but I really wanted the whole thing, and I guess I need to special program to re-size a gif? It kept going screwy. I just wish I could've found a smaller version of this one; I nearly died: RE: The Chit-Chat Thread - Ryan - 03-25-2013 IT seems like ages since I have posted here, stupid busy life! RE: The Chit-Chat Thread - Milkman - 03-25-2013 Hexadecimal, all you have to do is upload that picture to imgur. You can resize it there. I'll be seeing them tomorrow since he lives right town! There's so many loopholes in the child protective system it's almost not worth it, but it's the most any of us can do. And I totally agree on homeschooling. I believe it's really bad for kids. I feel the same way about religious schools. Parents/religious schools only teach what they want to, not what they need to. (Like brainwashing or cults or both) But you definitely don't want to get me started on a religion rant. RE: The Chit-Chat Thread - BumblebeeCody - 03-25-2013 I don't know if I would put Homeschooling on the level of religious schooling, but that homeschooling missed out on some of the benefits of public/private schools. For parents you don't have to teach the kids on the same level as public. I've seen cases in which homeschooled children are generally a few levels smarter than what they teach at private/public schools due to how much they've learned at home and at the pace the parents teach. Plus, not every teenager who leaves school actually gets anything from it. You often get those teenagers who didn't learn anything and spend all their time on Facebook or wasting their life. I'm personally against religious home/public/private teaching to be in general. But if the parents take care of what the education is at home and teach them actual facts then I don't see it as much as a problem. For every con of homeschooling there is also a pro. A con being no social interaction but a pro is not being bullied. I can't really fault a parent/carer who is willing to personally give what's best for their kid(as long as it's not religious, sure). You most likely know more about this subject than I do anyway. RE: The Chit-Chat Thread - Psychospacecow - 03-25-2013 (03-25-2013, 06:32 PM)Hexadecimal Wrote: Well this is a weird coincidence. RE: The Chit-Chat Thread - Hexadecimal - 03-25-2013 @Cody Yeah, that's why I said that it's debatable. There was a kid who came into one of my classes from homeschooling that was way smarter than the rest of us but he was so timid it was ridiculous. At least in that case the parent didn't slack off in his education. From kindergarten through eighth grade my mother sent me to a private Christian school because she thought, due to the small class sizes, I would be better educated. Nope! Instead it was more like "OK, enough about Jesus! Teach me math!". And oh boy it wasn't good for me when the topic of divorce came up and we were told God didn't like it. My parents divorced when I was about three so that opened the door to some nice bullying. Remember when I mentioned I've only punched one person and never regretted it? It was because I'd had enough of this one girl constantly saying horrible things to me and the teachers not doing anything. In the blink of an eye I socked that bitch in the mouth so hard she cut her lip on her teeth. Then when I finally got into public school I was so far behind thanks to what little we were taught I had to stay after and get extra help from teachers and tutors.
