Console commands. They're the PC equivalent of debugging. I use them to test things in Fallout New Vegas, like seeing if a weapon in a pack is liable to crash my game when its level listed and such. So, I'll tgm, or toggle god mode, and get all the weapons at once.

Didn't even know that was possible. Interesting.

I know what they are, I was questioning their existence in RPGs. See, the first thing in my mind was a traditional RPG.

The level max level on RPG differs from each RPG game. I know in Super Mario RPG you can't go up to 100, you go up to a 30(max amount of leveling up). Leveling up can be a piece of cake or a challenge for some. unless if you want to cheat your way to leveling(by using cheat codes or using a certain power that can be offered to you to give you more exp points. I know the first two Paper Mario games have this feature).

Best bet. Is to beat the crap out of every single monster that comes in your way for an RPG level up.

In games like DQ8 and Bravely Default (as just too random examples) that doesn't actually do quite enough. You will need to stop and grind a fair bit from time to time in order to progress.
