When I started this I was thinking "Everyone is going to say the water temple." You are the first one to say it and not even the OoT one ether. RE: That One Boss/Level - FUS RO DAH - 04-11-2013 The Thousand Year Door in Paper Mario, the entire level is complete shenanigans. I will never understand the unanimous hate for the water temple in OoT. It was a memorable high point of the dungeons for me, as a long time Zelda fan. ...now, swimming in Metal Gear Solid 2 was a different story. RE: That One Boss/Level - gaiages - 04-11-2013 The Water Temple? Pfft. I hated the Shadow Temple in OoT more. That boss was really quite annoying... in fact, if/when I ever play the game again, I'll surely be dreading him! xD RE: That One Boss/Level - gamemaster1991 - 04-11-2013 (04-11-2013, 11:03 PM)gaiages Wrote: The Water Temple? Meet the guy who still haunts my nightmares. RE: That One Boss/Level - BumblebeeCody - 04-12-2013 Oh yeah, use spoiler tags if you're going to mention any boss/enemy names just to not spoil games for others. Spanks in advance. That boss was really quite annoying... in fact, if/when I ever play the game again, I'll surely be dreading him! xD The Water Temple in OoT was a big deal at the time. It was so difficult! Now-a-days there's a walkthrough for everything, so players never even have to actually "play" the game if they don't want to. (Same goes for the first couple of Zelda games as well- I know a lot of people hate them) I guess it was different to those of us older than the internet. The Shadow Temple was always fun for me, but i'm also a big fan of horror/scary things. I thought it was very interesting the way floors/walls/enemies/etc could appear/disappear. Bongo Bongo was a pain the the ass, but so unique at the same time. Dead Hand has always been, and will always be, on of the scariest video game enemies of all time. RE: That One Boss/Level - Hipserious - 04-12-2013 The Broodmother in Dragon Age: Origins. Not only do you have to trek through the longest dungeon in the game (which is essentially 4 medium length dungeons strung together). You have to fight off against possibly the creepiest enemy in the game. Which I'm not even sure if I can post a picture of the creature due to it having 12 bare breasts. Also just going to throw the Archdemon from the same game out, although he's a bit less of a headache due a rather common glitch where you can stun lock him with a ballista. RE: That One Boss/Level - Hexadecimal - 04-12-2013 The Labyrinth of Amala in Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. It is a pain in the ass to get through as there are multiple floors, random battles happen about every two steps, you will get lost and frustrated, there are no save points except at the very start, and at the end you fight two very tough bosses so you'd better have some stellar recovery items. There's also a floor where Dante chases you. You have to get past him because, if he catches you, he'll reset the three switches you're trying to hit. EDIT: Even worse is there's a floor where a demon you select must meet a requirement to open a door. You only get a hint as to what it is and if that stat isn't high enough the demon will actually die. So, an awesome part member you've been working on might poof just like that. Sure you can summon it back, but did you remember to register it in order to do so? Jesus I hated that floor. I think I tried to suppress it. Oh, and I hate those shield/tunic eating monsters in Ocarina of Time. I've had many rage resets in my youth from them. You are screwed if it happens in the Fire Temple. RE: That One Boss/Level - PixelXenoKing - 04-12-2013 okay okay okay....... those master mages in skyrim am level 65 and the master mages are still really hard for me. It took me a month to pass it. I didn't wanted to use a guide, I wanted to pass it by miself, so it costed me that much. RE: That One Boss/Level - Mass Distraction - 04-13-2013 I wonder why game developers insist on having those underwater levels and obnoxious QTE parts in their games when just about everyone hates those things? A water level can be fun if done right but usually they aren't. QTE parts, on the other hand, are almost never fun and used just as a lazy and poor design choice for any game. Again, even those can be done right but rarely they are. RE: That One Boss/Level - Bowlcut Gandhi - 04-13-2013 For me, it's the same place in every game; the very beginning. I have no idea why, but whenever I replay a game it's always the beginning that makes me just think "Ugggh, gotta go through all this story introduction mumbo jumbo poopoo pfffft I already know how to play the game let me just get past all this stuff waaahhh" |
