RE: Gaming news - Wastelander - 06-21-2014 Philips is a copyright troll that made a vague assed copyright and then enforces it against one out of three companies that used its vague assed patent. Trolllllllllll. Trolllllllllll. I agree that it's scummy, but they aren't being a patent troll. They have a legitimate patent that Nintendo is infringing. Philips spent years spending (wasting I guess, because the product never caught on) money on R&D for an IR camera device with a physical motion sensor that utilizes hand-gestures to a fixed point, which is exactly what the wiimote uses with the sensor bar. Hardly vague, definitely a justified lawsuit. Trolllllllllll. Vague, as in as broadly as humanly possible. It's like King copyrighting Candy. Trolllllllllll. It is absolutely not like that. Before Phillip's patent nothing like it existed on the market, while the word candy has been around for a long time. Trolllllllllll. It is absolutely like that in the sense that the definition in the patent is vague. Nintendo did its own thing, but Philips's patent was so vague that they can lawyer up and slap Nintendo down. Even if they have no business in doing so. Just like with Candy, where King put a copyright on the word Candy, even though a lot of companies did its own thing with it. Trolllllllllll. You can't really compare a legit patent lawsuit to something as ridiculous as copyrighting a common word. RE: Gaming news - CLXcool - 06-23-2014 http://www.polygon.com/2014/6/23/5833560/nintendo-loses-uk-lawsuit-regarding-wii-motion-controls Ah...Shit. The US is finally getting an online Pokemon Center store. I just hope they have something neat of Gengar that I can buy! I've seen some plushies I'd like, but they're too expensive. RE: Gaming news - Mass Distraction - 07-08-2014 Mighty No.9, the upcoming Megaman clone from Keiji Inafune, is getting an animated series: RE: Gaming news - CLXcool - 07-10-2014 http://www.gamnesia.com/news/bayonetta-2-director-hopes-to-make-a-third-game-with-nintendo#.U76gkPldV8F Please...please...PLEASE let this be a reality. RE: Gaming news - GameWizard001 - 07-10-2014 Anyone a fan of Double Fine, Tim Schafer, or Grim Fandango? Well not only is it coming to both PS4 & Vita but now you can play the remastered version on your PC! Hurray for options. It is a PS exclusive though, so no Xbox One or Wii U versions. http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/07/09/grim-fandango-coming-to-pc-alongside-ps4ps-vita RE: Gaming news - Zaliphone - 07-10-2014 (07-10-2014, 09:48 PM)GameWizard001 Wrote: Anyone a fan of Double Fine, Tim Schafer, or Grim Fandango? Aww, I feel like it work well with WiiU. This is happy news, though. I'm excited that there will be a modern way to play the game, I've heard nothing but good things about it. |
