RE: Fighting Games - ZpaceJ0ck0 - 05-19-2016 Here are more SF profiles! Elena: http://game.capcom.com/cfn/sfv/column-114498.html Translation by "bakfromon": (With long slender flexible limbs that brilliantly extend outward to kick! She's the fighter hailing from Kenya!) Name: Elena Height: 183cm Weight: 52kg Blood Type: Unknown Birthday: September 18 Home Country: Kenya Favorite things: music, dance Dislikes: destruction of nature Living in the African savannah, she's the youngest daughter of the chieftain of a small tribe. She's bright and carefree, and she never forgets to show gratitude and excitement for every force she experiences in nature. It's possible for her to heal herself. This is great. I wonder whether or not she can cure neck stiffness.... BTW, someone on NeoGAF had a really good idea that Capcom should implement these character profiles into SFV. This a mock-up they did: http://m.neogaf.com/showpost.php?p=204031524 I think it'd be awesome if this happened! EDIT: Considering every other fighting game now has a Gallery mode it only makes sense. But it's Capcom.......... Dudley and Mr. Gotch http://game.capcom.com/cfn/sfv/column-116386.html Trasnlation by "Miðgarðsorm": Fighting dandyism! He has a cool hairstyle. I'm envious. Hairs are cool. Name: Dudley Height: 185cm Weight: 101kg Blood Type: B Birthday: 27 january Home Country: England Favorite things: Black tea, roses Dislikes: Impolite fellows He's a lordly perfectionist, and the boxing heavyweight english champion. Due to his father's bankruptcy, he has been through dire times, but he's succeeded in regaining almost completely his former wealth. Nowadays he's renowned for his violent rushes during matches, but conversely has a soft side as a lover of tea and roses. Name: Ortho K. Gotch Height: 186cm Weight: 72kg Blood Type: A Birthday: 1 juny Home Country: England Favorite things: Preparing clothes Dislikes: Vulgar things, people lacking puntuality He's been the butler of the family since the days of Dudley's father. His black tea is superb; he's a legend in the world of butlers! He knows Azam and Shibasaki. RE: Fighting Games - BumblebeeCody - 05-19-2016 Gargos looks nuts. RE: Fighting Games - ZpaceJ0ck0 - 05-19-2016 http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2016/may/19/gargos-killer-instinct-season-3-live-stream-full-character-breakdown-colors-balance-changes-and-more-be-shown/ Gargos to be released on May 27th; new footage, 4k official artwork wallpaper, and more!! RE: Fighting Games - ZpaceJ0ck0 - 05-20-2016 Another SF profile, this time featuring Ibuki's classmate Sarai Kurosawa (the one who appeareaed in Ibuki's ending in SF3 and SSF4: http://game.capcom.com/cfn/sfv/column-116387.html Translation by "Miðgarðsorm": Ibuki's classmate, Sarai Kurosawa! Seen here in her working outfit. Name: Sarai Kurosawa Height: 161cm Weight: 48kg Blood Type: B Birthday: Juni 22 Home Country: Japan Favorite things: Puzzle games Dislikes: Homework, tidying up The classmate of Ibuki, born in a ninja village. Still living there. Her specialty is tree climbing. She can use ninjutsu and taijutsu to a certain degree. Also very capable with puzzle games: it seems her favourite is Don't Pull from Capcom's Three Wonders (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Wonders). RE: Fighting Games - ZpaceJ0ck0 - 05-21-2016 *clears throat* For those who are interested, there's a blog called "Fullscreen Bossfight" which has a mini series called "Those tits won't be necessary" "What's all about" you may ask. Basically, the purpose of the mini series is to show the process of breaking down various fighting game characters to their core and offering insight into why they were designed that way in the first place and...fight against ideologies, i guess. http://fsbossfight.blogspot.com/2015/03/those-tits-wont-be-necessary-pt-1.html Definitely a read worth your time (trust me kids, I learned a lot about character design thanks to this). RE: Fighting Games - Mass Distraction - 05-21-2016 I get what the person making that is doing but Mai's sexy outfit and Morrigan's insane proportions actually make more sense than the redesigns. Morrigan is a demon, a succubus to be exact, and the whole point of said beasts is to seduce men. Demon's don't generally follow real world logic anyway. Whether Mai, on the other hand, had ridiculous proportions or not does not matter, as her outfit is the main point of her character. She's a kunoichi, a female ninja, who wears revealing clothing for the same reason Morrigan does: to seduce men. And then kill them. For example, in a game called Red Ninja: End of Honor, the main character Kurenai uses her looks and revealing clothing to lure in enemy soldiers to eventually dismemeber, decapitate or otherwise maim them. My point is, not everything is sexed up just for the sake of being sexy. I don't get it, man. Are you talking about the artist who made those silly redesigns (Swampvicket) or about "Fullscreen Bossfight" (the blog i linked) Because it sounds like you are talking about them like they are the same person......which is not true. Maybe I'm not that much of a sharp reader. RE: Fighting Games - Psychospacecow - 05-21-2016 Jockey, don't be a dick. Mate, if you can't see how this is at least a little bit aggressive and dickish, I'm not convinced. RE: Fighting Games - ZpaceJ0ck0 - 05-21-2016 ^ I... yeah, who am I kidding? That was rude and unwarranted. That was an overreaction on my part. There, the original post should be fixed by now. RE: Fighting Games - Mass Distraction - 05-22-2016 I was referring to the artist? I thought that was obvious. No need to get yer panties in a bunch for an opinion. I did say I get the point of the blog, I just voiced my opinion on two of the redesigns. Besides, it was a blog within a blog. If I'm not entirely mistaken the blog itself, that you linked, talked against these redesigns. Expecting someone else read the link I don't feel like explaining every detail of reasoning behind the posts that I make because that would be just a waste of my, and everyone elses, time. Okay I guess my previous post could have done without the last addition, which admittedly makes it a tad bit confusing. I just wanted to make a tl;dr at the end. Things get easily misunderstood quite often. It may have been obvious to you, but not to me. (05-22-2016, 03:22 AM)Mass Distraction Wrote: No need to get yer panties in a bunch for an opinion. I didn't ask you to make an incredibly deep and long analysis of everything you just read. I just asked you to finish reading becuase I misunderstood you post. I get, I was wrong. I already admitted I was wrong. Let's move on already, shall we?
