RE: Fighting Games - ZpaceJ0ck0 - 12-07-2016 Empoleon is the latest fighter to join Pokken tournament. Bandai Namco released a trailer celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Soul Calibur franchise. RE: Fighting Games - Psychospacecow - 12-07-2016 No announcement for the 20th? I guess I'm stuck with the travesty they call V then. RE: Fighting Games - ZpaceJ0ck0 - 12-07-2016 (12-07-2016, 05:07 PM)Psychospacecow Wrote: No announcement for the 20th? I guess I'm stuck with the travesty they call V then. Why do people hate SCV so damn badly, tho? I never played those games, so I would like to know.... RE: Fighting Games - SERIOUSLY THOUGH - 12-07-2016 Soul Calibur III will always be my favourite. The hours I spent playing the solo campaigns and the RTS game. The next ones were (logically) gearerd pretty much only towards multi-player. Still have the OST on my phone :) RE: Fighting Games - Psychospacecow - 12-07-2016 (12-07-2016, 05:11 PM)Space Jockey Wrote:(12-07-2016, 05:07 PM)Psychospacecow Wrote: No announcement for the 20th? I guess I'm stuck with the travesty they call V then. They killed off more than half the cast, replaced about 1/3rd of those they killed off with annoying teenager stereotypes, made the entire storyline cast unlikable, killed off even more of the main cast in said storyline, made Kilik and "Sophitia" into random weapon characters, and the new introduced playstyles were practically unplayable levels of bad. In a game with 8-way run, they introduced Jacob from Twilight holding a cross that only knew how to run forwards and had no workable horizontal slash and a woman with an easily dodged crystal ball who was actually an already loved character that used a rapier, but they felt the need to screw her over too. The number one female character in popularity polls both internationally and in Japan, a Philippino woman named Talim who relied on strong positioning, dancing around the other person, and Tonfa goodness, was axed without an explanation. They replaced Kilik with the worst aspect of Goku from DBZ without any of the good bits, Taki with a girl named Natsu ![]() Edit : Just remembered this bit. Nightmare isn't actually Nightmare. Its some random Hungarian prince that is so mediocre in terms of the game that he doesn't even last all the way through the story he debuts in. Oriber. The translation was provided by Miðgarðsorm of the SRK forums.
http://game.capcom.com/cfn/sfv/column-131205.html http://forums.shoryuken.com/discussion/comment/11082009#Comment_11082009 Private Nakagawa: I think there were many of you who were surprised from a sudden headbutt charge from offscreen. That sound, THOOM THOOM THOOM, was so scary! Basic Info: Name: Wong Who Height: 191 cm Weight: 214 kg Blood type: 0 Birthday: March, 8 Home Country: USA Favorite things: Karaage, Sweet Foods in general Dislikes: Useless Efforts Private Nakagawa: A giant active in the vicinity of Metro City's harbour. He earned his living from weapon smuggling and contraband. He has a big tiger tattoo on his back. It seems he has a relative able to spit poison from his mouth, active in an Asian organization specialized in drugs.¹ ¹ So apparently T.U.S.K was a relative of Wong Who... ![]()

http://game.capcom.com/cfn/sfv/column/131286 http://forums.shoryuken.com/discussion/comment/11113356/#Comment_11113356 Private Nakagawa: Another one of the headbutt brigade. Sometimes he even dished out a powerful front kick. He drinks, rages, and breaks a beer bottle. Scary, scary! Basic Info: Name: Bill Bull Height: 195 cm Weight: 212 kg Blood type: B Birthday: April, 2 Home Country: USA Favorite things: His Original Cocktail, Watching Baseball Dislikes: Exercise Private Nakagawa: He's renowned for his cocktail in which he mixes Worcestershire sauce, shōyu, mustard, Chili oil and dressing. It seems that he's currently enjoying mellowing it with honey¹. He tried a diet once, but it didn't last long. ¹ I think I'm going to puke. ![]()

http://game.capcom.co.jp/cfn/sfv/column/131302 http://forums.shoryuken.com/discussion/comment/11115382/#Comment_11115382 Private Nakagawa: He's the last member of the headbutt brigade. He has the strongest kicks amongst all its members! Well, at least he thinks so. Basic Info: Name: G. Oriber Height: 191 cm Weight: 209 kg Blood type: A Birthday: September, 4 Home Country: USA Favorite things: Hamburgers, Fatty Foods Dislikes: Police Private Nakagawa: Has great faith in himself, and always tyrannises people. He boasts about his sideburns, that never forgets to trim. Apparently, he doesn't use an electric shaver, instead insisting upon using a straight razor. The G. in his name stands for Graham¹. ¹ I also suspect that "Oriber" was actually Oliver (again, its kana interpretation goes both ways). That would nicely fit Capcom's tendency to randomly reference rock artists in Final Fight.
RE: Fighting Games - ZpaceJ0ck0 - 12-22-2016 Yay! The CFN website released A new Side Reader!
