RE: Gaming news - retrolinkx - 03-26-2015 Man, I finally get around to playing TTYD on the Gamecube and there's this. Whatever, I won't have high hopes just for the sake of it. RE: Gaming news - CLXcool - 03-26-2015 I'm still waiting for an actual sequel to Super Mario RPG for the 3DS. I'd settle for a proper paper mario title for the 3DS, but a remake is good enough for me). I feel that way about Nintendo games in general. I get the feeling their being made for the sake of being made. ALBW, Smash 4, Paper Mario, Mario Kart, Mario Land (etc etc) just feel unnecessary and that they had to put one out for the sake of putting them out on that console. That being said, I never completed Super Paper Mario. Probably one of the worst reasons ever but that game had FAR to much text. I mean, it really got bloody tedious reading that shit and I can play text heavy games like Phoenix Wright or old JRPGs just fine, but Puper Maper Sario....too much. I actually quit playing it. RE: Gaming news - Boyobmas - 03-27-2015 The Fan-Made Super Mario 64 HD remake has been released! Well, only the first level though... https://roystanross.wordpress.com/super-mario-64-hd/ RE: Gaming news - retrolinkx - 03-28-2015 ^ That's incredibly impressive, I wonder if it was done from the ground up or based off other assets all put together. I want to see the idiotic parents arrested for not looking at the rating of the game. I joke, I joke :-) On a more serious note, I think parents that do this are stupid. Unfortunately, that will somehow get twisted and contoured into being compared to "my mom let me watch a R-rated movie and I saw a dude touch a woman's boob and rape her, so now I can blame my mom and that movie for the reason I got arrested for raping someone." I just don't see it working. RE: Gaming news - retrolinkx - 03-29-2015 (03-29-2015, 11:03 AM)CLXcool Wrote: http://www.theladbible.com/articles/parents-could-be-reported-to-police-if-they-buy-their-kids-call-of-duty-or-grand-theft-auto That's actually quite bad from the unexpected parents eyes. Like, my mother. She never knew much about video games besides the names of the games to get and whether it be GTA or Super Mario Sunshine she wouldn't care and would get it. This was mostly due to her reading about those games in the newspaper and seeing they were good games (entire reason she bought Pokemon for us back when we were kids.) She knew that we were all smart enough to not be influenced by the video games violence and to not use the swears or insults we would learn from the games, she would teach us manners and to not say those words and we didn't. She would just buy any video game she could for Christmas and Birthdays and they would sometimes be 16+ and 18+ games. She was just trying to make us happy and it worked. We loved all that vidya she bought us. Back when I was kid I knew video games and real life aren't the same thing, and if the argument for this is just "da vidya gaems r bad becoz dey hurt kids ;_;" then it's a stupid argument. Why not force parents to educate their kids to not act like retards in school. I mean the age of the Internet, Smart Phones and Media just not giving a fuck what they show will be worse for the kids in the long run than video games. Sure they may ALL hurt kids but I'd rather crack down on other stuff in society that could hurt a child more. Why can't parents just teach kids manners, not to swear, not to hurt other people and give them some sort of morals before society takes them away again, then we wouldn't have to deal with this that much. I'd rather have my kids killing people in a video game than them watching some messed up things on the Internet using their Smart Phones, and even then, with the former I'd teach them that it's wrong, don't do it in real life and tell them to not use what they learn in the games in real life. RE: Gaming news - CLXcool - 03-29-2015 This thing has been bothering me for the past few years now(even BEFORE I got slugged in the nose by that idiotic woman at gamestop). We have film ratings. And those ratings apply to the video games as well(from E10 for kids to M for adults). If parents are smart enough to not take their kids to an R rated movie, why the hell aren't they doing this with video games? They should be aware that if a video game is M rated, they shouldn't buy it for their kid. He/she isn't old enough to play it, and the last thing the parent needs is their kid having a bad influence on his/her life because of the video game. We are living in a world where not every parent is a genius, those are becoming rare, idiotic parents are running amuck in this country. If some dumb mother gets arrested for having their kid play Doom 3 or any other M rated video game. Its their damn fault for not looking into it like a proper parent and keep those things away from their kid until they are at the age where they can play it. RE: Gaming news - gamemaster1991 - 03-29-2015 ^You forget (if not, just didn't know) that there was a lady who took her child to an R rated movie and complaned to the manager that the movie was not family friendly. That's all well and good, but what do people really expect from a movie called the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The same can be said about titles like Manhunt and Grand Theft Auto. You look at a box that has a rating and you don't think "This says Mature 17+. Little Timmy is only 5. He does not need this."? I know that they are going to try to find a way to get to these games with or without the help of the parnets. I played GTA3 when I was in middle shcool but as my mother said "I was judgeing if you were mature enough to play these games."in her eyes she knew that I was responsible enough to play a game about murder and law bracking, but I was also like 14 at the time not 5-8 like these other children are when mommy just gives in to them and gets shocked and avended when the game has Boobies and Swearing in it. The whole thing of "My parents were too strict when I was a kid. Mine are going to have more freedom" just leads to more assholes in the world and mothers wondering " where did I go wrong. And they are working on something for the Wii U. New Ip? Or will they return to space with Samus Metroid? We have to wait and see. RE: Gaming news - Psychospacecow - 04-17-2015 http://www.screwattack.com/news/sony-nearly-lost-sonic-hedgehog-rights-due-possible-columbia-selloff So, this is a thing. RE: Gaming news - CLXcool - 04-17-2015 ^Last thing i heard about that, is that Sega's animation studio is doing the animation for that. RE: Gaming news - Mass Distraction - 04-23-2015 Hnnnngh! |
