RE: Gaming news - SamuraiGaiden - 04-06-2016 Well I guess that will make my buddy happy. He's a GGer and was really upset about them taking the oversexualized Tracer pose out and is still seething about the Baldur's Gate DLC giving a female character a backstory and a quest. This should cheer him up and show that Blizzard really doesn't care about female representation after all, like he feared. RE: Gaming news - Psychospacecow - 04-06-2016 It was the placeholder pose they gave a lot of characters before they gave them a proper one. Blizzard was going to replace it anyway since it was genuinely a mediocre pose, and they decided to do so quicker because people were complaining about it. It fits the character, and to claim not directly meeting the demands of a mother who was letting her kid watch videos for a game outside her age rating is not "not caring about female representation" by doing as was requested without throwing the whole audience aside is ludicrous. The problem with Tracer is that she's wearing track pants. She runs, and she's fashioned to be a super hero, so it fits. No worse than what you'd find in Teen Titans or Young Justice. RE: Gaming news - JiraiyaSennin - 04-06-2016 That is hilarious to me. I don't understand how people can get so "butthurt" about a stupid pose that means literally nothing. RE: Gaming news - retrolinkx - 04-07-2016 If I were Blizzard I would've just given everyone else a sexy pose, and then say it's equal because everyone has one sexy pose. RE: Gaming news - CLXcool - 04-07-2016 This just in, Blizzard has trolled the complainers on Tracer from Overwatch. http://www.polygon.com/2016/4/6/11376814/overwatch-tracer-pose-butt-replacement RE: Gaming news - Colossus - 04-07-2016 I heard something about Crash Bandicoot is coming this year? RE: Gaming news - CLXcool - 04-07-2016 ^Where did you hear about that? There has been on and off news about Crash's 'revival' but it always gets debunked. RE: Gaming news - Colossus - 04-07-2016 Some headline on an IGN article (didn't watch) http://www.ign.com/videos/2016/04/07/rogue-one-izombie-crash-bandicoot-and-fast-food-up-at-noon-live and this image that is going around that I noticed today: I am at work so I can't do any research into this. RE: Gaming news - ZpaceJ0ck0 - 04-08-2016 what?....hold on a second. Namco is actually triying to trademark the word "finishing move"??, really?!?!?! http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2016/apr/06/bandai-namco-looking-trademark-term-finishing-move-and-it-would-affect-lot-more-just-fighting-games/ I mean, seriously: Trademarking blanket terms and concepts is an unsettling thought. Trademarking and patents were intended to keep specific inventions and company names from being stolen, not to create a monopoly on a widespread idea like a finishing move or a Let's Play. RE: Gaming news - Psychospacecow - 04-08-2016 Namco also copyrighted minigames in loading screens so I can't say I'm surprised. RE: Gaming news - CLXcool - 04-08-2016 (04-07-2016, 02:40 PM)Colossus Wrote: Some headline on an IGN article (didn't watch) The crash bandicoot discussion is around the 46:43 mark on the video. They mentioned that someone was wearing a Crash Bandicoot shirt out in the open, and how its leading to various speculations that Crash could return. So far the only thing I could find about Crash returning was this. I'm not sure what that last part means but https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2015/12/loading-screen-game-patent-finally-expires It expired late last year. So it expired......Good! Looks like I have no reason to gouge my eyes out due to how cringey inducing the idea itself is (basically that's the meaning of the last part of my previous post). RE: Gaming news - ZpaceJ0ck0 - 04-10-2016 Massive God of War 4 leak points to Norse mythology setting Nintendo, in partnership with the San Francisco Public Library, hosted an event recently where "Super Mario Maker" was put in the hands of children, not for the sake of entertainment, but to help them learn game design. |
