RE: General Anime/Manga/Otaku Thread - RepentantSky - 04-09-2016 (04-09-2016, 08:44 PM)Space Jockey Wrote:(04-09-2016, 06:57 PM)RepentantSky Wrote: Can anyone tell me what anime/song this is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9xQwv9f-Rw&list=PLT1PCulk11DoPw9aWaB6mcP8EMJZigclX&index=79&nohtml5=False I can't read Japanese even though I can speak it, a bit. Anyways, any help would be seriously appreciated. Knowing the name of the song helped me find the anime. It's call Ke-San β. It might also be the name of the vocaloid. Either way I'll find it from there. Thank you for the help. RE: General Anime/Manga/Otaku Thread - SamuraiGaiden - 04-09-2016 Titles translates out to... [Chikyuu Saigo no Kokuhakuwo] Outattemita [Otakumin ver.] Chuubun Jimaku So that equates to something along the lines of... "[Final Confession of the Earth] With Great Poetic Lines [Chinese Otaku ver.] Chinese Subtitles" I think, at least. I believe that Otakumin/Wotakumin is the person who arranged the song, more than a simple Chinese Anime fan version, BTW. Near as I can tell, it's a song from one of the Vocaloid albums, 'Pandora's Vox' or such: http://pandora-voxx.wikia.com/wiki/The_Earth's_Final_Confession RE: General Anime/Manga/Otaku Thread - retrolinkx - 04-11-2016 Ace Attorney is currently on Episode 2. Which is the first part of Case 2 in the game. The anime is a good adaption for fans of the games, and while the animation and the general quality (for now) seems quite low (mostly because the cases are still early on, no point wasting all the budget on the first case or so) it's still amazing to watch. If you're not a fan of the games, then I don't see why you'd watch this but if you are going to watch it, and have absolutely no intention of playing the games, then it's good enough to give you the general gist of the story so far. But please PLEASE, just like how you should read Jojo, please play the games. Currently, the first two episodes can be found subbed in "unlocalized English" so Phoenix Wright is Naruhodo Ryuichi and so on. As a massive fan of the games (with the first being my favourite of the series and being my fourth favourite game of all time) I absolutely love it. The small changes they do make to the cases do bug me a bit because they were executed better in the games such as Spoiler: When Phoenix tells Maya that Grossberg won't take the case, he imagines himself walking away, reading in the paper that Maya has been committed for the murder of Mia and the court appointed attorney couldn't help her. He then stops thinking and immediately shouts that he will defend her instead, and even though he's a rookie, he is the only one that can help her at this time (also a nod to the fact Redd White is blackmailing other attorneys to not take this case, but doesn't see Phoenix as any sort of threat). In the anime, he runs around trying to find attorneys to defend her, and eventually shows her the book of attorneys with all but two crossed out who will take her case. In the end as Phoenix composes himself, they look at each other and then both shout "PLEASE DEFEND ME/LET ME DEFEND YOU PLEASE" and bang their head on the glass as they bow down to thank each other. While funny, I preferred the original rendition of it. Both show Maya being helpless and in need of Phoenix, but the game seemed to portray it in a manner more fitting for the time. The music is really cool and if you listen closely you can hear themes such as the Cross Examination theme and the Steel Samurai theme played during the episode. The animation for the characters are similar to their game counterpart as well. Ranging from how Larry acts in the first game to Phoenix with his hand behind his head and laughing while in court. What's quite interesting is that, they have also added more backstory to Phoenix. A-1 (The guys behind the anime) seem like they're going to add their own backstory for characters which is really cool. Spoiler: In the second episode, Phoenix actually meets Dahlia, as a young girl who offers him an umbrella in the rain Overall, I love it. Even if it was terrible, I'd still love it. To a non-AA fan. I'd say if you watched it you'd find it average, nothing to get too hyped about but nothing about it is truly terrible. Although, please watch it if you do have no intentions of playing the games, or just don't have the time. RE: General Anime/Manga/Otaku Thread - retrolinkx - 04-15-2016 You know when you wanna try and google/ask someone if they know a manga from describing it, but it's so fucking weird and there's just so much to describe that you just can't. I'm trying to remember this manga I read several years ago about a rich girl who made a promise to a kid back in elementary that they'd get married. Now it's around 10 years later and she forces him to marry her when they're teens, but has absolutely no love for him. I believe she pays off the parents and they give him to her. He has to go to an all girls school as the only boy and already that's pretty weird. He then has trouble going to the toilets since they only have girls toilets, eventually a girl with glasses offers to let him relieve himself in a plastic bottle that she will dispose of afterwards. Anyhow, he goes back to the house and discovers that the mother of the girl is part of some clan for vaginas I believe, and there is this other clan for penis's. Anyhow, he sees this guy dressed like a generic Japanese warrior (tunic, headband) and is begging to see this "golden phallus" that she has, because he actually wants to suck it because it contains magical powers or some shit. Of course, she refused unless he like touches her breasts or something. He refuses because he's made a promise to only touch mens parts, even though he's not gay. Fast forward a couple of chapters, and it starts getting super weird. Magic powers are now involved, and the "golden phallus" can keep evil spirits away and somehow it gets put on the guy's penis and his penis now has engravings of this "Phallus" on it, and it helps him ward off evil spirits that try to kill him I believe. Anyhow the generic japanese warrior guy comes back and discovers that his dick has engravings the phallus has and literally asks him to suck his dick. I'd try and explain more, but I honestly can only remember bits of it. Such as the girl with glasses kidnapping him, tying him to a bed and forcing him to drink bottles of his own urine together with her for weeks, then when the rich girl finds out she challenges her to a duel with some of the challenges being five representation of his manhood being put on five individual barrels and they have to "ride" them to see which is the true guy, and whoever gets it right is a true love. Then they had a Rock Paper Scissors game where everytime they'd lose they'd have to take an article of clothing off until they were naked. I know it sounds messed up, but I was like 14 at the time I read this, and this appealed to me very much and now I want to find it to add it to myanimelist so I could have a complete set of things I've read. But yeah, how am I gonna condense THAT into google? I tried. The more I added to the description, the more porn popped up as a result. RE: General Anime/Manga/Otaku Thread - SamuraiGaiden - 04-15-2016 Do you remember any names or specific titles/terms? Golden Phallus doesn't give much besides a few furry comics. RE: General Anime/Manga/Otaku Thread - retrolinkx - 04-15-2016 Nah, nothing. I do remember it ending with the wife and one of the giant Amazonian maids putting war paint/mystical paint or something on their breasts to fight the evil spirits that tried to kill the boy and her sister that looked exactly like her. There was also a small (as in smaller than the mc) grandma type character who was incredibly wise in the magic and mystical sections of this manga. One scene had her go into the bathroom of the young boy and comment that the engraving the "golden phallus" was place on his penis was still there and that it will still keep evil spirits away. No names I can remember sadly. Just bits and pieces here and there. I think there was also a game where the boy had to smell the crotches of several girls in a contest to see if he could detect who was his wife to see if they were true loves. Looking back it's incredibly fucking stupid but I want to find it because I did read it, but I honestly can't remember anything more about it. RE: General Anime/Manga/Otaku Thread - Psychospacecow - 04-15-2016 Tried looking into it. Found lecture notes for women in Chinese Literature and a minor Greek fertility god named Priapus. (Don't look him up btw.) RE: General Anime/Manga/Otaku Thread - retrolinkx - 04-15-2016 Well I found it. It's called "Domina no Do!" if anyone wants to read it. It's as stupid as I described it, so if you actually want to read something that stupid, here it is. Here are some examples of the many top quality pages this manga has to offer. RE: General Anime/Manga/Otaku Thread - SamuraiGaiden - 04-15-2016 Hahaha, nice. I may have to look it up for the sheer novelty of the situation. RE: General Anime/Manga/Otaku Thread - ZpaceJ0ck0 - 04-15-2016 An OVA adaptation of the JJBA spin-off "Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe" was announced as Bonus for Buyers of all 13 DVD or Blu-Ray Volumes. Part 4 also confirmed as being 39 episodes (13 discs with 3 episodes each). To me, those are really great news, i really hope they make a Purple Haze feedback adaptation once the part 5 anime comes out. DiU made top 3 in popularity on Crunchyroll! RE: General Anime/Manga/Otaku Thread - retrolinkx - 04-17-2016 I started watching something called Bokurano. Really love it so far, it's about a group of kids who have to save the world in a massive robot fighting other massive robots. It's a bit cliché, but it's done quite well and the characters are pretty interesting since everyone has a background that you get invested in. What did put me off a bit was an attempted rape in the show since the kids were 13 at the time, and it just felt pretty damn wrong to watch this play out. I also started to watch Nichijou but fuck if I know why. It's pretty funny but can drag on sometimes in their skits and I usually don't like watching. RE: General Anime/Manga/Otaku Thread - SamuraiGaiden - 04-17-2016 Goddamn Netflix! The wife and I finally got around to watching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood in earnest. We started it a year ago (yes I realize it is from 2010, my list is really far behind) and we've been watching one episode a night with dinner for the past week or so, all the way through to about halfway through Part 2's season. But I had my first real day off in several months this past Friday and we just sat down in front of the T.V. and started marathoning it. We binged the entirety of Part 3 and Part 4 and there it was...two episodes away from the finale. So we decided sleep was for the week, "who cares if we have to work the next day, right?" and we pushed through to watch the last two episodes. Lo and behold...there's an entire 5th season...one that Netflix doesn't have! And Netflix is probably going to lose the distribution rights to FMA:B soon because Funimation is about to lose the streaming rights, in May I think; so there's no chance of them getting the last season on streaming any time soon. I managed to find a copy of the last season online...but it is the original Japanese...with Spanish fan-dubbing. Gah! I did finally manage to find a streaming version online, but I have to watch it on the computer, instead of in my living room sitting on my nice couch. Stupid Netflix...what the hell am I paying for if you're going to cock tease me like that?! RE: General Anime/Manga/Otaku Thread - Psychospacecow - 05-01-2016 So, I was watching this Sword Art Online anime with my little brother. He sure got annoyed when I pointed out that the plot is Spy Kids 3. |
