I first thought of Zpace Jocko and offer my apologies. Maybe classic anime just isn't my thing.

In my personal opinion, the English dubbing is awful, the body proportions and people growing into titans is laughable, Kenshiro doing his hyper punching and kicking was fine but the dadadadadadadada scream made me cringe, and it hurt to watch. However I did enjoy the ending scene and scene during the credits after a very strange turn of events in the final fight. And I found myself looking up what happened afterwards because I wanted to know Raoh's and Yuria's fates.

I do like the soundtrack, though. Very 80's but awesome.

The movie takes quite few liberties and it's higly condesanted due to running time. Raoh's and Yuria's fate are not open-ended in the source material.

As for the artstyle, it was meant to be inspired by actions movies of the era starring actors Silvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger, hence why many of the character hace such... defined bodies. Not to mention the quality of the artwork is vastly superior in the original manga.

Also, did the ATATATATATA battle scream really made you "cringe"? An unpopular opinion indeed (not saying this as an insult, you are actually the first person to said that). Was the battle scream left untoched or it was dubbed?

Overall, if you are still interested then try watching the 1984 anime or the original manga. If not then feel free to move on onto other things, I dunno.

The Negotiator
Samuel L. Jackson is a lieutenant negotiator, Chicago's best on the east side, who is charged with the murder of his partner. After taking hostages to prove his innocence, he calls on Chicago's best negotiator on the west side, played by Kevin Spacey.
The film is intense and tension is high. All actors give great performances.

The film's conspiracy theory plot is loosely based on the Pension Fund Scandal of the St. Louis Police Department in the late 80's, early 90's.

Thank you. I might actually check it out one day with some better understanding of what's going on.
Oh, yeah, I did kinda cringe. Idk why.

Today I've watched Live Free or Die Hard/Die Hard 4.0

Bruce Willis still nails it as John McClane, and the chemistry he had with Mattew Farrel (Justin Long) was handled nicely. The action scenes wer entertaining. The CGI was guite "meh" at some parts. i don't think there's much to say other that I liked how it handled the post-911 paranoia that was going around at the time.

Looking foward to the final chapter.

RE: At the Movies! - ZpaceJ0ck0 - 03-17-2018

The journey is over... today I've watched A Good Day to Die Hard (aka Die Hard 5). And let me tell you, it was bad.

The beloved John McClane was treated like garbage. The reason why many people like him is because of his humanity. Sure, the guy is an one-man-army, but he could still get severely wounded and show some vulnerability, he was a reluctant hero who only stops the bad guys because "there's no one else that can do it". In this movie, Mr.McClane is a stereotyped version of himself: a wise-cracking action supercop who seems impervious to damage, and even his wisecracks are weak.
We are also never show how the previous films shaped his character over the years to the point where he is at, which was a key-feature in said previous films.

The villians are forgotable. They are not menacing, cool headed, or inteligent . They just feel like poor goons.

On the bright side, there's some competent cinematography from Jonathan Sela and a good musical score from Marco Beltrami. Additionally, John son's Jack (Jai Courtney) has certain glimpses of charisma and character development, shame it wans't explored fully because of the countless action scenes (that weren't even that good to begin with) and little to no breathing room.

Out of all the FAN MADE trailers for the upcoming Unbreakable/Split sequel 'Glass', this two stand out the most for me.

2019 is up to a good start just because of this movie alone.

I believe the actual/official trailer is going to be released around mid-late 2018.

They released another trailer today, and it makes it look more interesting. I got a feeling the third time is the charm.

RE: At the Movies! - Prohyas - 03-21-2018

For my sister's birthday, I watched Black Panther and I'm sorry.... but I laughed my butt off over the death scenes. They were just too funny.

I also laughed at the part where the Man-Apes threatened to feed their flesh to their children except to reveal that their vegetarians.

Holy balls Kill Bill is phenomenal.

RE: At the Movies! - ZpaceJ0ck0 - 03-22-2018

So today I've watched Spiderman: Homecoming. It was fun.

Tom Holland did a really good job as Spider-Man, wheter he is the best potrayal of the actor or not is something I cannot say, too early to judge. The plot twists are well executed. The soundtrack fits the movie quite well. The action scenes were entertaining.

And lastly, the post-credits scene... well played, Marvel. Wouldn't be surprised if it turns out the people who waited at the cinema felt they got played like a damn fiddle (after the initial credits I just pressed the skip button, saving me trouble).

RE: At the Movies! - ZpaceJ0ck0 - 03-27-2018

Watched Black Panther this Sunday.

I liked the sets we saw of Wakanda. The soundtrack was good. Erik Killmore's scene with his father was great. I liked T'Challa's sister. Andy Serkis nailed as Ulysses Klaue, he's clearly having fun with the role.

On the dowside, the movies have quite useless scenes, such as Spoiler:the museum one where Killmore and Klaue end up in killing everyone despite the covert operation. There's also Killmoger himself, who was driven by revenge at first, then his motivation turned into some uncertain political position about oppression, but in the end it seems that he just loved his country (but not the people, it seems). The scene where BP suggests that Killmonger can be saved and healed completely destroys all the rivalry and the motivation of both. Basically, he was a lame villian, and the fact that people are legit saying that he is one of the best villians in the MCU is beyond my understanding. Like, are we sure we watched the same movie?
.

Another thing is that the CGI in certain parts was awful.

Despite it's flaws I still had fun.

RE: At the Movies! - Furo - 03-28-2018

I've watched a few older movies recently, it's basically my hobby now along with YT...my favorites are the 1992 Malcolm X film, Blade Runner, and Downfall.

Yes, that Downfall. The one that spawned all the Hitler parodies. It's actually an incredible film, basically condenses the last 10 days of the Reich into 2 hours 30 minutes. Nearly made me cry at parts. I recommend it to anyone who finds the history of Nazi Germany interesting.

Also Blade Runner is a masterpiece and I need to watch the new one.
