What's your sci-fi? - Mass Distraction - 02-25-2014

All nerdy people have that one sci-fi series they run with. For the majority it's the eternal battle between Star Wars and Star Trek but personally I don't care for either. Plus I think the fans of those tend to keep to their own circles. Prove me wrong!

My own long time favorite is Stargate SG-1 but I'm starting to get real fond of Doctor Who. Sadly I haven't kept up with Stargate in a reeeeeally long time since I missed a lot of episodes and then it went off the telly. I have, however, started buying Dr. Who DVD boxes and now I'm midway Series 2, with Series 3 waiting for its turn.

My favorites off the top of my head are Eureka, sg1, and Cowboy Bebop.

I've got four favorite series that I'll forever be a huge fan of.

Doctor Who
Star Trek (franchise. Though, Voyager not so much)
Stargate (Franchise.)
Eureka

Star Trek. I have watched every next generation and enterprise episode, less than a handful away from saying the same of DS9 (gotta love them Ferengi), over half of the Voyager and original series episodes. I've read countless of the books also.
Also quite a fan of Doctor Who. One of my most prized possessions is a signed photo of Tom Baker.
Also, I've read quite a few books in the Ender's Game series. Still haven't seen the movie, though. I was slightly ticked about the ads for it somewhat giving away the plot twist.

I forgot about Ender's Game, only books I've ever liked.

Currently it is Doctor Who but I'm also quite into and own the whole series of Farscape. I even got the mini-series that was meant to wrap up Season 4's cliffhanger ending and streamline the 5th Season's arc called The Peacekeeper's War.

Oh yes! Eureka! I didn't really even think of it as a sci-fi series when it totally is. That one's my favorite of the bunch.

Remember that episode with all the people on tv? The guy who said that they could be just like you or I etc. was the dude with the sword w/o makeup.

Super Human Samurai Cyber Squad! I don't know if it counts, but hey, I loved it.

Are you talking about Anthony Simcoe who played D'Argo? Otherwise your question is a little on the vague side for me to know what you are talking about.

Yeah. Its been a while since I watched the show, but I remember catching that. I think it was a video the NASA guy was watching after they got to Earth.

Are you thinking of the one where John is in some dream scenario cause some weird alien pretended to be his dad to see if he is trustworthy of the wormhole knowledge or later where they actually end up on earth? Or the one where John sees his friends incorporated into his life on earth but turns out it is Scorpius messing with his head?

Or none of these.....yeah, it's been awhile for me. At this point some episodes blur together cause they kept going over the same things before they decided they were actually gonna go forward on something. Still an awesome show though.

Eh forget it. It was an awesome show.

I just remember that it was supposed to be tv footage on the show, with interviews and stuff, as part of the episode.
