RE: The Free Gaming Thread v2 : Electric Boogaloo - GameWizard001 - 06-15-2014

Already talked about it in the Last Game You Beat thread but kinda want to say a little more about Wolfenstein.

Don't know if anyone knows about the original game Wolfenstein 3D, pretty much the archetype of the run and gun FPS game we probably play today. This latest one is not that at all. First off, there is a story beyond must kill Natzis, Hitler and anything that comes into my peripheral vision.

The New Order asks and answers the question: What would happen if the Natzis won WWII? Well this game gives a good idea. It takes place in 1960's America, you play B.J. Blazkowicz the main protagonist of the series who has been in an asylum for the past 14 years after the end of the war due to shrapnel embedded into his head causing major trauma.

The game itself looks gorgeous and plays beautifully on the PS4 (it better for $400). The story is well written and the characters you meet along the way are awesome too. Even this one female character that is this super smart crazy math genius who at first I didn't care for. That is until you go to sleep in your quarters at your base to wake up later with her sitting there staring at you, then goes into a discussion regarding where you go when you fall asleep or lose consciousness as she put it. Then it follows with Blazkowicz teaching her how to shoot, lol. Lady stares at you and your character's girl in bed with you sleeping and you teach her to shoot a gun? Okay I like crazy math lady.

The missions are challenging even in the easiest difficulty especially when fighting Natzi robot mechs. Those sonsofbitches take a lot of damage and can kill you quick if you aren't careful.

Plus the game if bought recently gives you a code to receive early access to the DOOM Beta that is being made. So that's cool too.

So if you are into FPS games that let you kill Robot Natzis and regular Natzis then play Wolfenstein: The New Order.

Wow, I just checked to see what the previous record was and this new time is nearly half of that. That's just fantastic, I'll definitely have to watch this full run later.

I just got a bit bored and decided to replay the Tanker chapter of MGS2. I found something called the Casting Theater, where you can switch around characters in like 8 different cutscenes. So naturally, I switched everyone to Raiden and it was damn hilarious. I really wish I had a way to capture video now.

Where the heck do you find that? I have both the PS2 version and the PS3 Collection version. I would think it is in either one but you never know what gets carried over these days in ports or HD versions.

You just gotta complete Tanker and Plant chapters then it should be in the extras menu. I believe it's in the menu where you could view the brief plots of the past games and view photos you taken.

I once got a hidden trophy for making Rose kill Raiden. I also put old woman attacking Snake.

It was on the HD version. It's just in the extras menu like TrueBoss said. Though I didn't know of any trophies connected to this, I'll look into those :P

Huh. Gotta go play them all then. That and Peacewalker just because of the enormous amount of spoilers of how that game ended from Ground Zeroes. Good god that game was great but disappointing also for the fact it really is just a tech demo of their new engine. Still cool though, just not worth the $30 price tag. Maybe $15 as a digital download.

RE: The Free Gaming Thread v2 : Electric Boogaloo - Zaliphone - 06-17-2014

Peace Walker has really been grabbing me, I'm really getting into it now. I might switch my PS4 and 3 so I can play it HD for a while. It controls a bit weirdly, but it's not too bad now that I'm more used to it.

Tried out League of Legends for the first time, I can see why a lot of people enjoy it. I'm actually having some fun with it.

It's happening, The Wii is going to become Nintendo Gamecube 2: Electric Boogaloo but more successful of course.

Oh... I was hoping for Gamecube support.

What is the best gaming computer available, but below $800?

I need to buy a new computer (Hopefully in the coming months) because I cannot play any games on this piece of junk. Any help would be appreciated.

^

Just build one.

It's easier than you think and it will be cheaper.

Hell, the graphics card I have can run Battlefield 4 at 60fps/720p and I got it for £60.
