More power to you. I easily spent way more time modding Skyrim than playing it.

I grabbed a pair of pliers, reached into my SNES, ripped out pieces of plastic, and now my SNES can also play Super Famicom games. I have proven this by playing Puyo Puyo Tsu Remix nonstop.
TAKE THAT NINTENDO AND YOUR REGION LOCKING!!!

Oh, I don't mind modding. I've modded some games back in the day too. I just don't enjoy the whole "game not work, fix it" part.

Well, I'm driving about 2 hours and 15 minutes to be interviewed for a documentary on speedrunning today. It's being made by a student at the University of Cincinnati, so I'm headed to meet him up today.

I'll have to watch it. Any idea what it's gonna be called? "Pedro's Speedrun"? They called you Pedro at SGDQ or something, didn't they?

It's going to be called Frame Savers. Yea, Twitch chat nicknamed me Pedro at AGDQ 2015, and I kept the nickname at SGDQ 2015. I'm going to be one of several speedrunners interviewed.

Funnily enough, if you remove the back of a US N64 case and replace it with an EU one, you can then play the game. The region locking is (again) just a weird plastic mold on the back of the cartridge.

Any forthcoming cringe?

My friends have been playing Pocket Mortys, despite not watching Rick & Morty, and they are liking it. I decided to try it out and I'm liking it so far. Very fun.

I always knew that the towns in Pokémon Blue and Red were named after colours, but I only just realised that Ash is from Pallet Town. As in pallet, the thing on which you put all your colours for painting. Waaat.

Goddamn my mind is blown, only took me 20 years to realise.

I had the same reaction a few years ago. When I told my brother about it he gave me one of these "Are you kidding me" looks.

So, I was playing some TF2 and someone was complaining about how Pyro was the easiest class in the game, I replied and said that Solider is the easiest class in the game, not Pyro.

We get into a small argument, and eventually we just play the game. I was a Solider, he was a pyro. I rushed out, and crit killed several people and rushed past them back to their spawn, and started spawn camping them as a solider.

By the end of the game, three soldiers including myself were spawn camping them, and I was top scoring, running a 22 Kill streak and dominating three of them.

Solider, easiest class in the game.

Damn, what next, you're gonna tell us you didn't know Twinkle Twinkle Little Star has the same rhythm as saying your ABC's?

Spoiler:Or that the clouds and bushes are the same texture in Super Mario, only different colours

Take it easy on the fella. I never realized that, either. But, I was never big on Pokémon. And, I didn't realize
Spoiler:the clouds and bushes in Super Mario Bros. were the same texture
until I learned how to play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on the xylophone.

Haha, I was just saying. People usually never notice so it's always a good one to say to catch them out.

RE: The Free Gaming Thread v2 : Electric Boogaloo - CosmykTheDolfyn - 02-07-2016

So, I signed up for a little thing a bunch of speedrunners got together for called the "12 Hour Challenge". The point is, over a single weekend, to learn, in 12 hours or practice, all or part of a speedrun of a game you've always wanted to do, but haven't yet. I guess similar to 4 in February.
My game I signed up for was Valkryia Chronicles. So far, I've learned the first 8 chapters and accidentally discovered a faster strat to beat chapter 7 then previously thought. I'm having fun with this!

RE: The Free Gaming Thread v2 : Electric Boogaloo - Psychospacecow - 02-07-2016

Can confirm, watched his discover faster strat. Completely skipped arian nuke woman on sand crawler level.
