Super Smash Bros. Melee - Reflections - Takahashi2212 - 09-01-2014

In the Fountain of Dreams stage, the water reflects the characters (which takes a lot processing power, making the stage banned in Doubles tournaments). The reflections aren't actually the model, but rather a low-poly version (the same models are used in the offscreen magnifying lens). These models don't emulate the character's facial expression, or show the item they're holding.

Whether the model is low poly or not is impossible to tell from this image, since it's so pixelated.

For the lack of a better source, here ya go

In the trivia section, it has the same information and a picture of Pichi crouching along with a Jigglypuff pic.

Lower resolution reflections is not the same as low poly.

IGN mentions a low polygon count in the second paragraph under "graphics".

I don't know if it's a low poly model or not but a similar reflection trick was used for Luigi's Mansion.

IGN mentions a low polygon count in the second paragraph under "graphics".

"The actual world the characters exist in isn't particularly detailed and has relatively low polygon counts"

It's pretty clear to me that this is referring to the environments themselves.

Can I rephrase to say low res then? I apologize if what I said was wrong.

Thanks to everyone who found those extra sources for me.

That would be great.
