Trying to ease my dad into games - Psychospacecow - 09-27-2014 My dad has watched Pacific Rim on repeat multiple days recently. That's some strong boredom. I'm trying to get him to try some new stuff but he's not really a gamer. I'm gonna see if Spore works and see from there. Anyone got any ideas? He's like me but probably would prefer less twitch reaction kind of games. That's why I chose Spore for one of the games. RE: Trying to ease my dad into games - gamemaster1991 - 09-27-2014 Kirby and New Mario are good places to start. My dad hates video games, but hell one day I came home and he was playing a racing game with a controller and loved it. If he likes movie type games give him games with long cutscenes and stuff, Uncharted, Last of Us, Metal Gear, GTA etc. If he likes puzzle games give him games like Portal, Prof Layton, Zelda, Brain Training etc. No point in letting him play a game you may like but he'll hate and he doesn't want to tell you until he's bored and goes off video games. Also, if he liked Pacific Rim, and wants mecha type games, he should play Phantom Crash. and then when he's good and ready show him the spanking attack in God Hand and he'll be set for life. RE: Trying to ease my dad into games - BumblebeeCody - 10-02-2014 Dead or Alive. Demons Souls. Tetris RE: Trying to ease my dad into games - CosmykTheDolfyn - 10-02-2014 Racing games are generally fun. If he likes a good puzzle, have him play Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine and watch the smoke roll out of his ears. RE: Trying to ease my dad into games - MidwayCJ - 10-05-2014 If your dad doesn't like game that would require fast reaction time, I'd suggest an RPG or an Animal Crossing sort of game. My Dad always loved games, even before I was born and turned out to be the little game lover myself, but he has post-polio so as he got older, his muscles in his hands got worse and he couldn't play things like Mario and fighters with me anymore. But he LOVES FF7 and Animal Crossing. But I don't know if those would fit your Dad's personality. |
