May is from 3rd generation, the Ruby and Sapphire games.
The 3rd gen remakes were announced in May.

This is either a really cool coincidence or a really smart plan. Either way, I like it. (I would like it more if I had a 3DS)

Well, EA is shutting down a bunch of online service for a large list of games, including some of the older Battlefield titles.

I didn't even know James Bond Nightfire came out on PC.

Wait, the Playstation 2 online servers were still up?

Just to add to that, it's worth noting that Nintendo are shutting their Wii and DS services on the 20th of May.

That pisses me off even more for some reason. It feels almost unfair, but I still understand why they are doing this.

Mmhmm. I understand too. But I don't agree. Doesn't this also mean false advertising on their games is now a problem? At least YouTube still works on it because, outside of emulation and Project M, I use my Wii for YouTube in bed.

I have never really used online capabilities in games. I find them pointless. For me, however, considering that my internet is so slow that it takes days to upload a single video and watching youtube is a process of watch a little it, buffer and spend about half and half time, online gaming just doesn't work for me even if I did enjoy it.

I'm sure somewhere on the game boxes with online capabilities there's some fine print that saves Nintendo's ass.

I've never had a need for it either. Only one game I've played that had online multiplayer component to it was Mass Effect 3 and only because playing helped with the single player. You didn't need to play it to get the good ending but it did help in the long run.

Actually there was one more and it was Bioshock 2 but that wasn't as good. ME3's multiplayer was great in my mind I think because it was a squad of players against the computer NPC's. No competition of killing each other but either standing together or going on your own and each of us taking care of the bad guys (ie the guys shooting at us). Didn't need to speak, didn't need to make fun of each other.

Sucks on the bad internet signal. My PS3 has wifi but sometimes it just looses a signal. I was in the middle of a match, must of been at it for about 20 minutes. Had maybe one other round to go before completion and the signal is lost and I loose all my progress I would have made or any items or currency to buy more items.

Meh. I had Club Nintendo coins that were going to expire so I was forced to use them. I just got an Animal Crossing poster since I already got the Luigi 3DS holder, which was one of the few good rewards I saw on the site.

I'm still sad I was 500 coins away from the Luigi figure. I would've really like to have that.

RE: The Free Thread *Gaming Related* - Cheshireson - 05-13-2014

The Animal Crossing posters looked nice. Speaking of Club Nintendo, just last month as I was perusing my Wii collection, I finally decided to become a member of Club Nintendo to take advantage of its service. To think that it was over two years ago when I bought the Wii Family Edition, which came bundled with New Super Mario Bros. Wii and the Super Mario Galaxy: Original Soundtrack CD. It took me quite awhile to register everything, but in the end I came up to a total of exactly 300 Coins, so I managed to achieve Gold status this year!

RE: The Free Thread *Gaming Related* - Zaliphone - 05-13-2014

I just recently got some Link Between Worlds posters from Club Nintendo. They're pretty wicked and they definitely make my room look less boring.
