RE: Weekly Question (Week 11) - RepentantSky - 04-29-2015

This also applies to me, in a way, but instead of me scoring them I just say whether I had fun and whether I'd recommend it.  Because that's what it all boils down to: not numbers, but recommendations.

I'm sorry but Angry Joe is one of the worst reviewers out there. Not for the reasons I mentioned before, but more because he never realizes when he contradicts himself or hates one game for doing something another game he likes did. Example, he hated Destiny for doing the same thing CoD games do, but he gave the CoD game he reviewed before Destiny a pass. Another example, he told people not to buy Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 despite the fact, that the 40 dollar price tag basically comes out to the equivalent of the DLC that comes out for every CoD game, which he also gave a pass to. Also, do I really have to mention the crap he went through with Nintendo? Dude obviously knew what he was doing and still managed to make an ass out of himself. He's also one of those reviewers who does his reviews almost entirely off of what he expected instead of what is. That is bad reviewing. You can make mention of that, you can even alter the score of the game, a bit, because it's not what you expected, but to say a game is bad because you expected a Lambo and got a Ferrari is just stupid. The only exception to that rule should be when you are lied to, like Alien Isolation for example. The worst part of it all is that he doesn't seem to notice he does that, or he simply doesn't care. I'm sorry but I have thought multiple times of creating a youtube channel on making corrections and pointing out obvious flaws in what happens on the site, and Angry Joe would be the basis of what not to do if I ever do make that.

I agree with what you said but don't you mean Colonial Marines? Isolation was everything they told us it would be.

Right you are. I was kind of tired when I posted that.

No offense taken on that comment Repentant. Angry Joe was the first person that popped up in my mind that I thought was less affected by the torrent of number reviewers.

Like leaving Destiny's storyline incomplete?

Like they left it on a cliff hanger, they did not fill in plot threads, or the story just seems unfinshed all together? I ask becuse I've never played the game and (aside from AJ) I hear very little negative about it. The first two can make great jumping back on points if they wanted to make a series out of the game (like the company's previous series, Halo, did when they brought up multiple Halos). The last however, is kinda damning to a good game to me.

I also have to agree with Repentant Sky. I don't really like AJ any more due to the one sidedness that he takes with a good deal of games, which a good deal of reveiwers have now adays. If it's not a big named title with a big budgit and big names behind it, It gets no higher then a 5/10. It's the reason that I also stoped watching X-Play in the later seasons.

I remember watching X-Play when I was younger. But when that network started to change my interest in all that they show just waned.

As opposed to having a story that's completely not worth the time, I guess yes. Although, with the new Destiny DLC, we are going to learn more about the best part of the game since we'll finally be able to play on Awoken territory. In my opinion, the best part of the story was when the Awoken were part of it. They have the most potential to grow into something interesting.

I didn't think it had been this long since we had a new question. I guess I wasn't paying any attention.

RE: Weekly Question (Week 11) - JiraiyaSennin - 12-03-2015

Got any more of those questions?

RE: Weekly Question (Week 11) - RepentantSky - 12-03-2015

If we don't get a new one soon, maybe someone else should just start up a new thread.

RE: Weekly Question (Week 11) - SERIOUSLY THOUGH - 12-03-2015

A mod can change the question and answers, so fire away with some questions and I'll make the necessary edits !
