Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes canonicity - KnowledgeBase - 12-16-2015

According to Pablo Hidalgo, member of the Lucasfilm's story group, the canon status of the game Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes for iOS and Android within the Star Wars universe and lore is non-canon, due to the nature of the game.

The question came about due to the inclusion of the character HK-47, who became a Legends status character after the acquisition of Lucasfilm by Disney. Since the game was released after the establishment of the new Star Wars canon timeline, it was presumed that any media, including Galaxy of Heroes, would be part of this canon, which presumably meant that any Legends character introduced, especially in this game, would be now part of the new canon. However, as stated by Hidalgo, due to the canonicity of the game, any Legends character that becomes implemented into the game, unless introduced in another piece of official media, would remain as part of the Legends canon.
