Final Fantasy Games - Trivia & Easter Eggs - ProtoSnake - 12-25-2015 Brother's gloves, strongly resemble Jotaro Kujo's Stand "Star Platinum's" gloves from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. RE: Final Fantasy Games - Trivia & Easter Eggs - ZpaceJ0ck0 - 12-26-2015 um....do you have better quality images of Brother's gloves? RE: Final Fantasy Games - Trivia & Easter Eggs - Kakariko Kid - 12-26-2015 RE: Final Fantasy Games - Trivia & Easter Eggs - Mass Distraction - 12-26-2015 I wonder if there's some other meaning behind that exact type of glove, since Jin from Tekken also has those. RE: Final Fantasy Games - Trivia & Easter Eggs - Kakariko Kid - 12-26-2015 I also read on a wiki page that Jotaro Kujo was modeled after Clint Eastwood. I know nothing about the manga, anime, games, etc. But, if you can look into it and can find a way to turn it into a trivia, feel free to take it. Jotaro's personality and mannerisms are based on Clint Eastwood's. In the final chapter of part 3, Jotaro himself acknowledges this by saying something among the lines of: If this was a western movie, i would say: c'mon! Drawn your weapon! Let's see who it's the fastest gun in the west! BTW, Kakariko Kid: if you love yourself enough you should watch/read the source material, trust me, it's good for your soul. Now, as for this trivia in particular... I do not think it is a JoJo reference at all. This is Final Fantasy that we are talking about. This is the same series that brought us things such as Final Fantasy 15: The Boy Band and FF10-2: Charlie's Angels, among other bizarre desing choices. So with all due honesty I don't think this is JoJo related. If this is confirmed to be a JOJO reference by one of the developers then I'm going to believe it. Jojo Part 3: Stardust Crusaders ran from 1989 to 1992, and Tekken came out in 1994. Part 3 was by far the most popular of the Jojo stories and influenced a lot of stuff in future anime/manga stuff. Even some stuff in the west took inspiration from it. I have yet to see anything that predates Star Platnium's design, as far as the gloves go. I had the image of a pizza in mind when I designed that city, and I really like how it turned out. According to game's art director Yūsuke Naora, he stated that he really wanted people to see his work on Midgar. He was thinking of a pizza in his head while he was designing the city, he also really liked how it turned out. After Cloud escape from Shinra troops by train, there's a small dialogue of Barret talking to Cloud about the upper plate of Midgar looks like a pizza. Referencing Naora's inspiration. Even the name of the theme 'Underneath the Rotting Pizza' is a reference to the Midgar's design. |
