In page 292 of the Super Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U Prima Guide, you can see that the Mii Brawler has its own icon. It should also be noted that this, as well as the Mii Gunner and Swordfighter, have their icons remaining in the game's data.

Each of the Mii characters seem to have their own default icon. I play the game and when choosing a Mii character, having over 10 that I share with my daughters, it takes a while to load the customized characters I have created; the Brawler, Swordfighter, and Gunner show the default until the aforementioned characters can load.

I have a lot of Mii characters. Shame Miis can't be used for Online Play Glory matches. But I guess that's the point.
