Probably due to lack of interest?
I remember LOVING the campaign of that game and the expansion pack.
Hope GoG.com brings it back or it gets its own remake like Age of Empires 2 is getting on Steam.

I hope so, it was a great game and to be honest it was far over shadowed by so many other game's of the genre and I think that was a bit unfair .

Game was too much fun. I'd love for someone to do SOMETHING with Age of Empires someday (other than the horrendous MMO out right now).

Steam is releasing a HD version of Age of Empires 2 so you might wanna check that out.

I am thinking of buying Age of Empires II HD. It was my first PC game and my most beloved one! Then Warcraft came :P
