Yokai Watch 2 confirmed, but that release date though? - RepentantSky - 05-16-2016

Yo-kai Watch 2 two versions have been confirmed for a Western release, They are called Bony Spirits and Fleshy Souls and their release date it, 9/30/2016. That's right, they are coming out the same day as a game that is topping anticipated lists left and right, Final Fantasy XV. This either means that Level 5 is confident in their product, or that they don't care because Yo-kai Watch is beating Pokemon in Japan and they are rolling in Yen like it's gone out of style. Either way, I have a feeling that sales just won't go well for this game with this ill-fated release day.

I'd love to link you to the story but I can't, as links don't exist yet. I really need to stop finding stories that haven't even had articles written about them yet, but hey, Yo-kai's official twitter only broke the news about an hour ago and Level 5 themselves only said something about it somewhere I can't find 3 hours ago, so what are you gonna do.

Wouldn't you know right after I said all that about not finding a link, facebook of all places would give me one: http://www.idigitaltimes.com/yo-kai-watch-2-release-date-confirmed-sept-30-split-two-versions-533893?utm_source=FBPAGE&utm_medium=Social&utm_term=Gaming&utm_content=470550257&utm_campaign=IDigital%20Times%20-%20idigitaltimes&linkId=24549185

Yokai Watch is kind of like Pokemon. Some of the major differences are Yokai being ranked from E to S. The basic idea of the story is though, is that a kid named Nate outside of Japan is out collecting bugs he's planning on using for his summer homework assignment and he stumbles upon a crank machine that's next to a giant tree. When he puts a coin in, a Yokai called Whisper appears and tells him that other Yokai are causing trouble in his town and he then gives Nate a watch that allows him to see and battle Yokai. The overarching plot is pretty basic, as it is basically a kids game. That said, it's got a very unique battle system that makes use of the stylus on the 3DS.

In battles, your Yokai attack randomly, and you can do certain commands like having them used a special move that gets charged as they attack. They can also get inspirited negatively by foes and you have certain mini-games to play while battles are going on to get them out of their affliction.

As for the story of the second game, so far as I can tell, these two witch like Yokai come up and take the Watch from Nate one night and it somehow erases his memory of what happened up to that point but he quickly gets a new watch that will allow him to get Yokai again and eventually I'm sure, fight these witches.

Think Majesty meets Shaman King meets Pokemon.
