I have my system pre-ordered right away this morning. Apparently the public isn't too hyped about it.

Being in a podcast must be nice. I'm more the journalist type, as has been made more clear to me since the Switch conference and my absolute love of covering anything and everything I've seen of it all over the place. I like report on things, give me my opinion, ask others to do theirs, and get back to researching the next story. Journalism is my passion as much as gaming itself is.

To the public, I can't understand why they aren't happy honestly. The Lineup of what's coming looks great even if they won't have a lot at launch, the idea is cool, but most people sit on a chair or couch and play their systems a lot while their plugged into TV's and I doubt most casual gamers who will by the system for games like Arms or 1, 2 Switch are going to care about battery life, they probably won't even play the system long enough to have it run out. Gaming isn't really a mobile thing when it comes to consoles, that's what the handheld and mobile market are for. There's of course the argument of, "Well if it's going to have that feature, it should last" but that not really the point of consoles. If that's the reason why people have an issue with the system, I don't really get it, and if the issue is the games or the price point, that seems kind of weak as well. We've known about this for longer than it will take for some of it's better games to release. I don't see the harm in waiting a little longer, especially since the Fire Emblem Direct is this Wednesday, we may not have to wait that long for Fire Emblem Warriors, which will make the system that much more worth it. I think it's really worth buying at launch.

My wife got a Switch and the new Zelda title pre-ordered! Like, paid for and my bank's website shows that the payment has cleared! It's supposed to be at my house on March 8! Yea!

Sounds like Konami. Also makes sense why the game is fairly cheap. It'll make stupid people think it costs less if they do that.

Yeah, its a 100% Konami move right there. Not worth getting the game if Konami is still gonna fuck with the gamers.

RE: Nintendo Switch - Colossus - 01-15-2017

Looks like the storage capacity is a 2TB micro SDXC card.
Yes, this card does not exist, but I think Nintendo is thinking ahead and this might be the system that might be here for quite awhile.

RE: Nintendo Switch - RepentantSky - 01-15-2017

I said it on a Facebook post I saw talking about this but I'm glad to see that when its ready, a 2TB option is available. Apparently Breath of the Wild will take as much as 40 percent of the 32GB Micro SD that the system came with, so any upgrade in space is highly welcome.

RE: Nintendo Switch - Colossus - 01-15-2017

Since the Tree House event, I was looking at 256GB cards. If you're going to upgrade, might as well go max (now you cant...) My 3DS was maxed out (32GB) last year and it was unfortunate that I had to delete some games.
After debating... I'm going to wait on buying a card until I need one.
I do plan on buying everything physical that I can.

I'm with you on that. Digital Downloads major issue and one of the two major reasons physical game copies sell more than digital ones is because it takes less space to have the physical copy. Unless Storage of a system as it's base price matches the need for space, that's probably going to keep happening for several more years. Next time systems release, they need to have 5TB at launch, and if we get a physical console past that, probably 10 as minimum. Without numbers at least that high, people will pay the tax that comes with a physical copy. I'm certainly one to do it and it's largely for that reason.

RE: Nintendo Switch - Colossus - 01-15-2017

Reggie says that the Switch will be easier to find than the NES Classic (saw this on a lot of Twitter posts).
So.. I think there will be about 10 more units.

Reggie also states that there are some 40 odd days between now and the Switch, so there will be a ton of new information in the upcoming days.
Please Nintendo, get your marbles together and let us transfer our classic games for free... for once.

RE: Nintendo Switch - Colossus - 01-16-2017

Apparently the joy-con grip that comes with the system will not charge the joy-cons. If you want that, you have to get the $30 one.

RE: Nintendo Switch - Colossus - 01-16-2017

Looks like it didn't post..
Zelda Breath of the Wild will be a 13.4GB download.
Last night I cracked and ordered a SanDisk Ultra 128GB microSDXC UHS-I Card.

Minecraft and Minecraft: Story Mode are coming to the Switch.

I might pick up the Minecraft for this... IF it's like the PS4/XBone and not the Vita/PS3/Xbox360.
And if online is decent.
And if it's $30 or under.
And if it runs well.
And if... well, it's Minecraft. I'll buy it.

RE: Nintendo Switch - RepentantSky - 01-16-2017

I'm just waiting for the Guardian Amiibo to be officially announced. We all know it's coming out the same day as Breath of the Wild. I guess in the meantime we'll just have to wait for smaller games then what was in the presentation and then the Fire Emblem Direct until that happens.

RE: Nintendo Switch - Colossus - 01-16-2017

I'm still waiting on a REAL Amiibo game to come out.

RE: Nintendo Switch - BumblebeeCody - 01-16-2017

So I went to the Switch even over the weekend.

Here are some videos:

So my thoughts after watching the presentation and playing it.

Meh.

I'm gonna be honest, it feels like I'm in the Nintendo bubble again. There's a lot of promise about all these games and third party support but it just doesn't feel like it'll last and fizzle out again like with the Wii U. The console is honestly nothing that special despite having some nice specs, I can't see myself caring about the actual system. You'll get the high quality Nintendo titles like Mario and Zelda but that's always to be expected.

The controller really doesn't feel that good. Playing Arms I felt like there needed to be a better way of holding the controller. The "Bumper" buttons feel really off and so does the ZR and ZL buttons. What's worse is the right side controller. I played Sonic mania on that and wow, the analogue stick in the middle is incredibly un-intuitive. If you're on a two player game, you're gonna wanna grab controller side 1 since it's the lesser of two evils.

I'm not excited for the system, but always excited to see what games come out. Same as always with Nintendo.

Just wanna make it clear, it's not that I think system is bad it's the "oh, another Nintendo system where they are doing their own thing....nice".

Oh and Breath of the Wild is amazing. Man I've been waiting for a good Zelda game for a long time and this is it. Just as a headsup, they were running the Wii U version on the Switch. It ran at sub 30fps and had severe frame drops. If you're getting the Wii U version, prepare to be disappointed.
