Inspiration for Kafei and Anju is Majora's Mask - Kakariko Kid - 12-13-2016
Aonuma stated that that during character development, inspiration for Anju's and Kafei's characters were inspired by the Taepodong missile crisis (quote from the article):
Aonuma: We were attending a wedding of a staff member and were talking with Koizumi and the others: “Come to think of it, it’s somewhat strange to come to a wedding in a situation when missiles may fall down today.”
