You know that fight against the Death Egg Robot in Act 2 of Green Hill in Sonic Mania.
It feels like it might've been inspired by this that we saw in a Dorkly Video, showcasing the Death Egg Robot in Green Hill.

If I'm not mistaken, the Death Egg Robot made it's first appearance in Sonic 2.
The idea to use it in Green Hill Zone may come from the Dorkly video, but we'll need to find supporting evidence.
