Super Mario Odyssey's Incredible Shrinking Pool - game4brains - 12-08-2021 In Super Mario Odyssey, the player can access a pool on top of one of New Donk City's many rooftops. A screenshot of this pool is provided below: Of note is that the pool wasn't always this shallow; a video by Polygon taken from the game's E3 2017 demo illustrates that the pool used to be deep enough for Mario to just barely be completely underwater. As the video illustrates, this depth is sufficient for Mario to drown if he is left underwater for long enough without resurfacing; this risk is likely the reason why its depth was significantly decreased in the final game. |
