This song was made to protest the Vietnam War and to show how the draft was only aimed at the poor since the rich could pay their way off... but then people turned it into a pro-war song. The unnoficial anthem of the Vietnam War.
And yes, I know I'm definitely not the first person to talk about how this song is actually anti-war.
