It states that it was most likely an error that Baba had a woman's scream in F-Zero X. I actually doubt that this was an error. The reason being, in the sequel F-Zero GX, he still has a pretty wimpy scream. And his poses aren't... exactly... manly.
On top of that, he speaks in a very effeminate manner:
