Ohhh... I really regret getting rid of my Land Before Time VHS as a kid. I thought I'd just get it on DVD but I've been reading that supposedly the DVD release has been censored by cutting the fight between Little Foot's mom and the T-Rex short. I know for sure the picture quality is terrible, but I can endure that, however I will not tolerate scenes being removed.

I still have the VHS. I just don't know where it is.

Watched Land Before Time online and indeed the Sharptooth attack was mellowed. I swear I remember seeing him take a chunk out of Little Foot's mom's neck when she fought him. It has to be true because you see her bloodied there as she's running away.

As an adult watching it's so obvious now where the other segments were cut (The film has never been released fully uncut ever) because of how abruptly things change.

Considering Judith Barsi is dead Spielberg should do the decent thing and release it uncut if the footage still exists. Her short career should be celebrated and heard in it's entirety.

It really bugs me in Yu-Gi-Oh! because its usually done to turn D-Cups to A-Cups.
I cannot tell you why someone thinks that's bad.

...Wow Land Before Time is old; came out a year before I was born. Just decided to check on that.

Anyway, apparently there was a major fight between Spielberg and Bluth about the scenes and the Sharptooth attack was only left in because it was needed to explain why Little Foot was alone. They even went so far as to asking a child psychologist if it would actually traumatize kids.

It's really fascinating to look around on the net and see the tiny pieces left of these scenes in the form of cels and even a tiny bit of Ducky footage from a trailer.

Don Bluth was responsible for The Black Cauldron getting censored as well. Here's a glimpse of missing elements that were found:

Hex saw Monsters University today and really enjoyed it! Woot!

It really falls short if you compare it to the first one, but it's still a really fun film.

I don't care if it's just a cardboard cut out; the supposed "ghost" in Three Men and a Baby is still freaky due to how it's placed.

I just saw a movie called "Taking Lives". I must say, it was the blandest movie I've ever seen. It's weird too with it actually having big stars in it like Angelina Jolie and Kiefer Sutherland (who ended up being only in a small role anyway). It started out strong, then went on with practically nothing happening until near the end when it started sucking really bad, then picked up again just before the credits but onlymanaged to lift itself to a very mediocre level. It's not all that bad but it definitely isn't good either. It just... is.

I got a continuity error pointed at for me. If the people in Monsters meant at university, then why in inc. does mike say they've been friends since the 4th grade?

Well... I don't know what to do about Despicable Me 2. According to the review they don't have any of the darker humor that was present in the originally movie and it's really been tailored to meet the 2-6 year old range. Bummer... I liked the first film more than I thought I would but it sounds like I'd be wasting my money on this one.

Speaking of Despicable Me, I just saw the first one on TV. It truly was as good as people have told me. Very worthwhile. Despite the next movie not having those dark tones I'm completely fine with it since they kinda tied that plot point up in the first movie. I'm just interested in seeing how the story continues.

It's just not the humor I'm concerned about. I'm worried that there's really nothing for adults in there at all; like the Lorax movie.

I don't mind if it's kid friendly, I like a lot of animations despite that. Take My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, for example.

Then again, if it's TOO kiddy, I'd propably rather claw my face off. Again.
